Comfortable but not right away - I bought these for a beginner’s ballet class and wore them for the first time at the first class - bad idea. You need to break them in, wear them around the house, stretch them out a bit, mold to your feet, etc. The second class was far better for my feet, and my grande plie!

The best dance shoe ever - This is the best dance shoe. After taking a break of 20 years from 25 years of dance, this "new" concept of split sole in a ballet shoe is terrific. The teacher even commented on my "true classic" form in my point to the other girls (who are in high school and have all taken since they were 5! I am 52-HA). After dancing in a full sole for all these years...this shoe makes it sooooooo easy and comfortable to hold a pointed toe. I ordered a 10 and I usually wear a 10.5 in street shoes. They are snug fitting for dance as they will stretch so if you are ordering to wear around the house order your true street shoe size, otherwise order 1/2 size down.

I love these shoes! I bought them as a no-heel option to wear with a long skirt. The stretchy drawstring allows you to adjust the shoe to fit your foot perfectly. They're very comfortable, delicate, feminine, versatile, and take up very little space in a suitcase. Ballet shoes, not just for ballerinas!

Brands I'd also recommend: Any brand of ballet shoes.

I haven't bought a pair of ballet shoes since I was a little girl so it was a little daunting to find a comfortable pair for my size 10 feet. Of the 4 pairs I tried, this one seemed the most comfortable, and I really like the split sole. I'm relieved to say the leather appears to be stretching, but it's still quite snug.

I bought these shoes at Zappos a couple years ago, it fitted great during my first 2 years going back to dancing. That pair has been lasting so long. Now I want another pair because the current pair is dirty. so I bought the 2nd pair in the same size, it\'s 1 size too large. It\'s frustrating!

Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father’s footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio’s popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes.

The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance.

Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker® and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Capezio pledges their support and dedication to the advancement of dance, theater and recreation in communities worldwide.

A simple ballet slipper evokes thoughts of effortless flight. These classic slippers provide functionality (grip) and give me confidence to help me take my first swings on the flying trapeze. And they do so in style.

Brands I'd also recommend: none that have anything to do with dance shoes

Lovely ballet shoe; split sole is a much better bet than full sole for dance. Ran incredibly small though.

These shoes are too narrow! I usually buy the Bloch brand, but they were out of pink. If you have wide feet, pass on these.

Shoes are good quality, shipping was very fast, but the packaging leaves a bit to be desired, I remember when Capezio's came in a nice pink box...but then, who wants to pay for a box. I would buy from again.
