The quality of this shoe surpasses Capezio shoes in our dance stores. The felt lining gives added comfort and it has a nice arch support. The leather is soft and comfortable. I normally wear a 6 1/2 Medium, and that size was too small, so I ordered the 6 1/2 Wide, the 7 Medium and 7 Wide. The 6 1/2 W was too short, the 7 Medium was a little snug and the 7 Wide is roomy, so I am wearing the 7 Wide for my long practice classes when I wear a heavier sock. It works well. I may keep the 7 Medium for my actual performances. With Free shipping both ways, Zappos makes it easier to try different sizes.

I took the advice of others here and ordered a half size up and a size wider than usual, and these fit fine. They\'re comfy, too, but I was startled to see that walking a couple of miles (normal for me) put considerably wear on the soles and heels. I\'ll have to spend extra to have new rubber added, which makes them less of a deal.

As expected - I was hoping to get the t strap shoe for my daughter, but it was not available in her size. This did fine for want we needed and I liked the lower heel. Capezio has always been a good basic, mid-priced alternative and good quality. You pretty much can't go wrong. We ordered both her street size and a half size up and wound up keeping the half size up. The narrow size was absolutely necessary also, so it was good to have that available.

Great Shoes - I needed to order a 1/2 to 1 size bigger than my normal size. The width was ok with the larger size. I would like a little more padding in the sole of the shoe. Everything else is fine.

I am impossible to fit with shoes - This shoe, which I bought for lessons in ballroom dancing, came close. I have very narrow heels and very high arches with little bottom padding on my feet. The narrow size of this shoe barely hugs my skinny heels, but the strap makes me feel pretty confident that I won't step out of them. I usually wear a 9-1/2 to 10 narrow shoe size and I purchased a 10 narrow, since a 10-1/2 was not available. Because there's minimal arch support for me, I found my feet went forward into the toe box and caused some pain. However, all in all, I did survive my first hour of dancing in these shoes without too much suffering. I do wish somebody would make some dancing shoes with some extra inside padding for older women like me. We are definitely a neglected market - a situation that surely will change now that the very active boomers have entered their 60s. I personally am definitely part of a neglected market: she of the 9-1/2 narrow foot. When I was young, I could find at least a few stylish shoes in my size. I could even find shoes that had narrower heel widths. Now I cannot even find any pair of flip-flops narrow enough to stay on.

Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father’s footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio’s popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes.

The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance.

Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker® and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Capezio pledges their support and dedication to the advancement of dance, theater and recreation in communities worldwide.

Very happy - After reading the other reviews, I order the shoes in a size and width larger than normal. They arrived the next day, felt wonderful, and looked sharp. I only wear them once a week for about three hours, but they are very comfortable and I forget that I'm even wearing them. I will buy another pair.

Great shoes - I ordered these for a Christmas show I am doing. There is some light dancing and I needed a comfortable, low heeled character shoe. These are great. I would recommend maybe putting a gel pad in for the balls of the feet, but even after two hours onstage, the discomfort wasn't unbearable or anything. They look great, and are very comfortable. I have to say, I am ALWAYS a size ten, medium width shoe, but with these, I did follow advice and go a size up and order wide. I am so glad I did-they fit perfectly.

Very comfortable shoe, even after a one hour tap class. No break-in required. Based on others' comments that the shoe runs small, I ordered both a 7.5N and an 8N (my usual size is 7 or 7.5 narrow). The size 8 was perfect and was true to width. Delivery was quick and returning the too small shoes was simple.

Old is new again - I used to wear these shoes when I was younger, but had somehow forgotten about them. I teach middle school and am on my feet all day. These are stylish and comfortable. I love them. Now, I just wish they came in red. I wear a 7.5 - 8.0 and bought it in an 8.0.

Needs No Breaking-In - I had been trying to take dance lessons (Ballroom/Latin) in some high-heel dance shoes. I bought these shoes and they have been worth every penny! No breaking-in period was needed. They are so soft and the heel height is perfect. I now plan to order the same shoe in tan. They are definitely at least a half size smaller and narrower than they are marked. I ordered a wide size and was really glad I did. Plus, I ordered these on Zappos at about 5:30 one afternoon and they arrived on UPS the very next morning! How is that even possible?!?

Capezio Leather Jr. Footlight - This is as comfortable character/dance shoe as I have found. I ordered a whole size larger than my shoe size and found it was too large. It is best to order no more than 1/2 size larger - or your regular shoe size only wider.

Great for about 3 hours - These shoes are awesome for about 3 hours and then start to hurt my feet. I wish they had more arch support, but overall they seem to be a really good shoe and I really enjoy wearing them.

Order one size larger - I am very pleased with the Capezio dancing shoes. I normally wear a size 9N, these run one size smaller. These shoes have excellent arch support and a padded insole. The free overnight shipping is the best!!

Good standing shoe. Originally bought my usual size that I needed to return and went up a 1/2 size. I stood in these for the first time one whole day on stage without any problems. Very comfortable.

Good dancing shoe - I selected this shoe for dancing & it's the first pair of heels I've worn in years. The 7 1/2 was too big; the 7 was slightly tight on one foot, but being leather, is stretching. I usually wear 6 1/2 or 7. They are comfortable enough for hours of dancing. The arch support is fantastic. After wearing them for about 5 hours off of carpet, the soles are still slightly slippery. The exchange of the 2 sizes was easy and efficient.

Capezio's Leather Jr. Footlight - I started ballroom dance classes with a cheap dance shoe. When I couldn't stand the pain anymore, I switched to the Leather Jr. Footlight. The comfort of this shoe is wonderful! I can dance all night!

Comfortable, but too big! I ordered a half size larger due to all the other reviews. I wish I hadn't. I always wear a 9.5 in Capezio, but I ordered a 10 and it was way too big. I should have stuck with my regular size.

Don't order your regular width!! I love Capezio's leather shoes, not for dancing, but for dress shoes. I have worn them for years. They do, however, run really narrow; pay attention to those who say to order wider than you usually wear! They are wonderfully comfortable and always look good. Zappos is a great place to order--always helpful and efficient.
