My son wears a toddler size 12 so I ordered a 10 per the recommendation listed in the shoe description. Maybe they have changed their sizing because the shoe I received was a true 10 and no squeezing that thing onto my kid's foot!

Fine tap shoe. I think it runs true to size, personally. I ordered a 12.5, and it is smaller than most of my daughter's 13s. Maybe it's mostly the adult sizes that have a discrepancy between stated and actual size.

Pretty true to size, daughter loves them! Seem much more comfortable than the patent bow tie ones.

I ordered 1½ sizes smaller and it was way too small. I should have ordered the correct size.

Well, after reading the previous two reviews, I decided not to follow the manufacturer's suggestion of ordering two sizes down, and instead ordered the actual size my son wears. The shoes arrived and they are two sizes larger! I'm sending them back to exchange for two sizes smaller. Look like great shoes otherwise.

Good tap shoe for the price. My daughter needed new tap shoes 4 weeks before her recital and I ordered these rather than the expensive pair that were recommended by her dance studio. (She was quitting right after the recital.) These fit great and are just as good as the pairs running a decent price and up.

These shoes are going to be great for what I was looking for. The shoes ran true to size, if not a little smaller, unlike the company recommended. The company recommended ordering two sizes down, but I had to return the size and exchange for 1/2 size bigger than my son's true size. Hope this helps!!!!

Don't size down! I ordered these shoes for my preschooler who is receiving tap lessons for the first time. Not knowing if he will like tap, I didn't want to spend a huge amount of money on shoes. This shoe looks good and was the right price for what I was looking for. The description with the shoe stated that the manufacturer recommends that you size down 2 sizes when ordering this shoe. My child usually wears a 12-toddler, so I ordered an 11 (assuming I'd get a slightly over-sized shoe for him to grow into). Unfortunately, the shoes that arrived were too small! I replaced them with a size 12, and while these will work, I still think that I could have easily ordered at least 1/2 size bigger.

Disappointed in quality. The tap was put on crooked, sticks out on one side & the shoe itself doesn't even sit level on a flat surface. My child won't be in the shoe more than 30 minutes a week but I don't want him tripping or twisting an ankle in a badly made shoe.
