I've had good success with Capezio in the past, and I ended up buying both colors of these shoes (tan and black) for some performances coming up. In doing this I can personally testify to the quality of Zappos return service! I read all the comments and ordered a half-size larger than my usual size. The narrow width is perfect for my skinny feet. As far as length was concerned, they did fit, barely, but I thought they wouldn't be comfortable for three hours. So I returned them and ordered a full size larger. The exchange went without a hitch! I do like these shoes; I don't know that they'd last long if I wore them on a day-to-day basis, but for specialized use they'll be fine. The heel is very comfortable for me. Although they're not fashion-forward, they're classic, going with many types of costumes without calling attention to themselves. I've put some gel insoles in mine for extra comfort, but I do that with nearly all my shoes.

After reading the reviews, I changed my order to a half size larger than normal. I wish I had also changed the width! These shoes are most definitely small and narrower than most manufacturers. Be sure to order accordingly.

The shoes are pretty and look professional/dressy with slacks or a skirt. The fit was good, but I am disappointed that there is no cushioning under the toes and the heels are plastic, not leather. Standing or walking all day on hard floors there is nothing to support your feet, and the plastic heels announce you in advance as you walk down the hall. These shoes are more for looks than comfort, though I was not crippled at the end of the day - just relieved to take my shoes off.

I ordered these shoes on Wednesday afternoon and on Thursday they were sitting on my porch when I got home from work. I was very impressed. I ordered one whole size larger and the wide. They are too big, perhaps if I had not gottem the wide, but they feel great. I danced for 3 hours the first time I wore them and had no problems at all. I just pull the strap tight. I do have problems with the buckle, I have a difficult time getting the strap through bottom part of the buckle. Hopefully that will improve. I\'m thinking about ordering the same shoe in tan.

One of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I own! Wore them immediately, all day, and they felt great. Received compliments on their look.

Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father’s footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio’s popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes.

The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance.

Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker® and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Capezio pledges their support and dedication to the advancement of dance, theater and recreation in communities worldwide.

Dance Shoes - My daughter needed these shoes for a dance recital. She said they were very comfortable and easy to dance in - but would never wear them for anything but dance!

Dancing with the Stars... My husband and I started ballroom dancing lessons lately. These have been the perfect starter shoes for our new hobby. Comfortable right out of the box. Although ready for taps, they can also have a suede sole put on them for ballroom work. Buy 1 whole size up as suggested by other reviewers and it will work out for you. Very comfortable and supportive for someone needing narrow heels and a wider toe box. And better still, these didn't break the bank! Zappos, I love you and your overnite deliveries!

Great shoes! Looks: super cute. Very professional. Size: I'm normally either a 5W or 5.5W, and I ordered 6W after reading the reviews here. I definitely suggest you order 1 size up. Comfort: due to innate ankle weakness, I cannot wear mid/high heels and kitten/stiletto heels. These shoes keep my balance like a pair of flats does. Only complaint: the sole is a bit slippery; suggest you put those pads under the shoes.

Nice stage shoe - I had to get a pair of black pumps for my choir uniform. I'm a student, so my budget is pretty limited, and I've got big (and wide) feet, which makes it even harder to find shoes. My first thought was character shoes, and these fit the bill perfectly. I ordered my street size and width, and they fit just great. They're comfortable, especially for heels, and look really good. My only wish is that the upper were actual leather... but it's not due more to my price range than the shoe. It would also be nice if the strap were just a touch wider. They're definitely not a street shoe, but they're really nice to dance in and move around the stage. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing shoes of this sort.

Beautiful but small - I originally ordered my size but had to exchange them for 1/2 size larger. Still it was tight but I chose to keep them and have them stretched. Next time I'll order them in wide.

Comfort when it's really needed - Very comfortable. Had to re-order a full size larger and then I had to add an insole because the fit wasn't tight enough for dance class. In the end, I'm very happy and would recommend to any beginning dance student.

Danced all night - I bought these shoes for a dance cruise on the Queen Mary 2 from New York to France. They came just before I left and I found them very comfortable for the dance classes and nights in the ballroom. They made spinning fun!

Does not run true to size - The shoe is beautiful and the leather is nice and supple. I had to order a 1/2 size larger than my other shoes because the shoe was too short and too narrow in my regular size.

Pretty good for a cheap tap shoe - As a major advocate for Capezio, I will say that this shoe is very comfortable, but has very minimal bend in the arch for pointing / toe stands. If you wear them as character shoes instead of taps be prepared to scuff up the bottom, they're extremely slippery. I love the new heel design.

AMAZINGLY COMFORTABLE!!! To start off with, I am not a high heel kinda girl. I'm barely a low heel kinda girl, so I was skeptical as to the comfort and support spoken of in other reviews. These shoes are wonderful. I'm not a dancer, but I've been cast in a community theater production as a Hot Box Girl and needed something with a heel to learn choreography in. I never once worried about the heel breaking on me or my arches hurting. These are easily as comfortable as my favorite sneakers. I'm thinking about buying them in another color. I did follow others' advice and ordered wider than my normal size, so go big or go home!

Orthotic Friendly/removable footbed - What a great find Tic Tac Toe shoes are. For those of us who NEED to wear orthodics, here is a reasonably priced shoe selection with some style that is, in fact, orthotic friendly. Additionally, they come in a D width. After purchase simply remove the standard lining, which is only slightly glued in place, insert your own orthodics and you are good to go. Consider a wider width if the toe bed is too tight on the width you normally wear.

Great shoes - We wear this type shoe when singing in Sweet Adelines, Int. I also used to wear them square dancing. They are so very comfortable! And I love to have no shipping charge.

Finally, a narrow tap shoe! I have had trouble for 15 years finding narrow width tap shoes for my girls. These fit the bill/(foot)! We've never had one that also had the padded insole. This is a great value!

Great, but sizing is a mystery, and keep 'em indoors - After reading all the comments here, I ended up buying a half size up and a wide rather than a medium. The "wide" was a good call -- the width was perfect. But the half-size up? Unnecessary. If it wasn't for the strap, I'd be coming out of these things with every step. Used 'em anyway (as I'd purchased them for an event and did not have time to reorder the right size). Very comfy; very nice looking on stage. In fact, they were so comfortable, I forgot to take them off before I left, and I exposed their soft little soles to a couple blocks of hard, scratchy sidewalk on my way to my car. Result: I can still wear them, but the sole is already splitting from such treatment. Will probably order another pair in my actual size (but wide) and be very careful to keep those indoor-only.
