The Jazz shoes are as advertised on the website. These were for my son for a theater class. At first I thought they were too small, but they are fine. He has a wide foot and these are perfect.\r\n

These are great jazz dance shoes, good for Zumba and other dance workout routines. Order at least one size larger than your street size; they run really small.

Heed the advice and order these shoes a size or two larger. My daughter has an 8 1/2 wide foot and I ordered 10 wide and they fit perfectly. Very comfortable shoe and well made.

I bought these shoes after returning from the Denver Tango Festival over Labor Day weekend. My metatarsals were killing me after dancing for hours in stiletto heels. I used these shoes to practice tango in, and I like them a lot. They're extremely flexible, so I really work and stretch my feet while I'm dancing in them. They don't have much padding for the metatarsals, but I could put pads in them. I just haven't gotten around to it. I wanted Neotango dance sneakers, but they cost more than triple the price of these. It was a no brainer to buy these.

I was surprised to discover that I prefer the Capezio dance sneaker over this leather jazz shoe in my jazz class. The sneaker has more support, but is just as flexible as the lighter shoe.

Additional Brand Information

Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father’s footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio’s popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes.

The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance.

Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker® and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Capezio pledges their support and dedication to the advancement of dance, theater and recreation in communities worldwide.

Two of my tango friends were wearing this shoe at a workshop and I had to buy them. The reviews were great to begin with. The shipping policy on Zappos.com is unbeatable, with free shipping to you and free shipping for returns. As one who dislikes paying for shipping and handling at all costs, that was a large factor in me purchasing them here. The shoes themselves are *thin* - very very *thin* layer of fabric between your soles and the floor, but surprisingly there is enough cushion to support and protect your feet. I ordered a 1/2 size above my street size and it fit like a glove. I wear thin socks with them and I can easily dance in them 2-3 hours. Highly recommend them.

Capezio Jazz - Ordering the size 1 1/2 sizes larger than street shoe was perfect fit. The uncushioned heel takes a little bit of getting used to.

I used to dance and one day remembered how comfortable these jazz shoes were, so I ordered them again. I love wearing them around the house like slippers because they are so comfortable and mold to your feet. I especially like the split sole. Personally, I am a size 8 and ordered these in a size 8. They were a little snug at first, but the leather toe box stretches and now they are a perfect, true to size fit.

Heads up on sizing. My daughter has an existing pair of these jazz shoes purchased locally at a dance store. They are a size 2.5 and fit great, made in Thailand. Her regular shoe size is a 2.5. To accommodate for some expected growth, we ordered a size 3. The Zappos Capezios are way too small, at least 2 sizes too small--not the same fit at all, made in Brazil. We are reordering a size 5 and keeping our fingers crossed that they will fit. In short, if you already own these shoes and are making a replacement purchase, you may get a huge surprise with the sizing.

Shoe Size: Felt a full size smaller than marked Shoe Arch: No arch support Shoe Width: Felt true to width
Split sole digs into sole of foot - This shoe looks great, and if you're dancing the entire time you're wearing them, you'll be fine. But if you're wearing them in a show where you also stand a lot, these are uncomfortable for standing. The part of the sole under my heel digs right into my heel and is painful. When I'm dancing, it's fine, but before and after dancing, I'm standing. I read the reviews before buying them and ordered them a full size larger and wider than I normally wear and they fit perfectly. They also look fabulous, and make my toes look wondrously pointed!

Satisfied - I bought a size 10 (and usually wear women's 9N). The size is nearly perfect, my toe is a little closer to the toe than I would normally wear. I'm opting to wear a thin sock and will consider ordering a 10.5 next time.

A funky looking shoe - I wanted a light shoe for tai chi. This fits that requirement. I took the advice of other reviews and ordered 2 sizes larger. A snug fit, but not too tight. Unfortunately, the shoe on my right foot gapped on the outside in the canvas area between the toe and heel. The shoe on my left foot fit perfectly, but that is because it is still swollen from ankle surgery some months ago. I couldn't accept the look of the gap, so I returned the shoes.

Purchased for a show - I needed a pair of jazz shoes for a dance part at a theatre I was working at this summer. I looked at the Capezio online store and the purchase price plus shipping was more than I wanted to pay, for over night or two day shipping. Zappos had the shoes for less and shipped them here the next day. They were actually a half size too small, I generally wear an 8, so I called Zappos and they shipped an 8 1/2 that afternoon. I received the new shoes the next morning. I hadn't even shipped the smaller pair back yet. Great shoes, good arch huggage, nice grip. The tan color did rub off a bit, I would suggest black.

Great shoe - This shoe is an excellent choice. But it runs very small; we had to go up a size and a half to get the right fit.

Good dance shoe - I found them a little on the snug side for a wide but I expect they'll give in time. I was disappointed with the so-called canvas part of the shoe. Some odd man-made fabric that felt like it was spun from plastic. I would have much preferred actual canvas for the breathability. Nice looking but I was hoping for a dance shoe for the warmer weather.

Capezio Jazz Shoe - perfect for BodyFlow classes - Was looking for a flexible shoe with traction for BodyFlow classes (combines yoga, Tai Chi & Pilates) & Tai Chi classes. This shoe is perfect for that - you forget you're wearing shoes until you need the non-slip traction during certain moves. Very comfortable. No arch support of course, but perfectly flexible for moves requiring balance, traction, and range of motion.

Capezio Canvas/Leather Jazz shoe - I am not a professional dancer, but I am an avid adult student of jazz, tap and modern dance. These are the most comfortable and supportive jazz shoes that I have ever owned. The vamp is flexible. The sole offers just the right amount of traction for secure grounding and easy turning. The sizing runs small. I usually wear an 8 wide, but I needed a 9.5 wide. The width was perfect. I heartily recommend this shoe.

Great Jazz Shoes! Speedy delivery! My daughter had to get jazz shoes, for the next week and I placed my order at about 9:00PM and got them the next day! Great Service! Shoes run narrow, so we got a wide, but overall, they are very comfortable.

Capezio Jazz shoe - It took me a long time to get the sizing right for this shoe. Normally, I wear a woman's size eight; however, I had to size up one full size in these shoes. Great for dance practice and comfortable.

Capezio Leather Jazz Shoe - My daughter needed these overnight for a dance event and the rest of the girls already had those and spent much more and had to go ALL over town to find them. These were also much more comfortable, cheaper and shipped directly to our house...wonderful experience!!!
