About Camilla Skovgaard
Born in Denmark, CAMILLA SKOVGAARD is a BA (hons) and MA graduate in footwear design and product development from Cordwainers Shoe College (2003) and the Royal College of Art (2006) in London. Camilla began her career in women's couture in Dubai at the age of 20 when a French owned company brought her to the Gulf to design for the region's Sheikhs' wives and daughters. After 7 years in Dubai, Camilla discovered she was more excited about shoes and in 2000 moved to London to study the craft of shoe making. Her eponymous shoe line took shape when she met Italian contacts in high-end shoe manufacturing during her MA; Saks Fifth Avenue in the US bought her first collection while still a student.
Camilla was awarded Queen Elizabeth Scholar Award for Excellence in British Craftsmanship, London 2007, Award for Excellence in Footwear, LCF London 2003 and voted Shoe Designer of the Year 2008 by public vote on Australia's shoe blog Imelda. Her shoes can be seen in exhibition SHOES at Maison du Danemark on Champs-Elysees in Paris 2 Sep-3 Oct 2009.
In addition to own line, Camilla collaborated with British fashion house Matthew Williamson, for whom she was appointed shoe designer in 2005, for the past 7 seasons showing at New York Fashion Week, and continues to collaborate with some of fashion's most directional and talked-about designers for SS10.

I'd been leering at these for months, couple nights ago had a margarita in me and hit Order. They are everything an expensive shoe should be, gorgeous construction, luxurious feel, they smell fantastic. Yes, I smell new shoes, like new car smell but better in my world...but tiny. I wear a solid size 11 and felt like Cinderella's stepsisters trying to cram myself into these. So sad. But not really. I can't afford them at all! Giving them 5 stars across the board, if my feet were smaller they'd be perfect shoes. Just note the sizing is way off.
These shoes run very true to size [I think most Skovgaards do]. For a heel of this height they are really wearable. I think the rubber traction at the bottom acts as a sort of dampener making them more comfy to walk in. The color is quite beautiful, almost a silvery gold combo. Very gorgeous shoe. I highly recommend it; feels super luxurious on!
The shoes are true to size, extremely comfortable for the height of the heel. I love the design of the sole of the shoe which allows great traction and no slipping while walking. The only problem is the tassels hang below the sole of the shoes & there been a few times that the tassels were stepped on and they came off you have to be very careful with these shoes. I still love them and get compliments every time I wear them!
