Bottom line: I would do a little research to make sure Burton's Speed Lacing has improved since earlier models. One of my laces has broken 3 times over the span of 2 years. This last one really got me fired up. You've been working long hours all winter... and it's 2011/12 winter in SLC so you've seen less good days of riding than you can count on one hand and 2 of those were in October. You finally get a day off from work and its dumped 10 in of 6% density snow o/n and its not slowing down. Another buddy has also gotten the day off and you've both are stoked that mother nature has finally produced and, then.... your boots speed zone breaks and ruins your day and probably your week. You spend the rest of the morning sitting around dejected watching the snow fall outside the window of your home as your friend is out riding the fresh delivery of pow. You will have to go into the shop and pay for Burton's proprietary re-lacing tools and wait for a day or two as the tech tediously tries to thread a new lace back through the boot. This could happen to you! Think about other speed zone lacing systems. I know that Salomon's has a better reputation.
