I recommend against purchasing this item. It has an inferior plastic zipper which jammed and broke easily. It is too small and too tight a fit to get the iPad in and out with the smart cover on.

Contrary to the previous reviewer, I love this cover. Although I have a different color, it is a fantastic feel (wetsuit material) and great for traveling, slips in and out of a backpack/bag like a dream. It is not designed to fit with the apple smart cover, as the Built website states this (maybe Zappos you could mention this). But I do have an Amzer TPU case on my iPad and it slips into the Built case like a glove with no problems and never a scratch. I've even dropped it and it bounces. It also will not fit the charger properly but it stretches and gives enough to squeeze it in there anyway. It is such a beautiful cover like all BuiltNY products.
