Description

  • With nothing but the open road ahead, it's easy to get lost in the sweet plush of every stride when you ride the PureFlow 3 from Brooks®!
  • Successor to the PureFlow 2, SKU# 8056774.
  • Part of the PureProject Collection from Brooks.
  • Brooks developed five unique features called the Ideal Technologies (Nav Band, Toe Flex, BioMOGO DNA, rounded heel, and Anatomical Last) that are featured in every PureProject shoe. Combined, these technologies are designed to promote an efficient, natural stride by encouraging a more forward foot strike, which places the runner over their center of gravity, helps align the body and reduces harmful stress.

  • Breathable mesh and sueded synthetic upper materials.
  • An updated, wider elastic Nav Band is locked into the lateral strike pod to ensure a secure, glove-like fit.
  • Lightly padded tongue and collar for a great next-to-skin feel.
  • Soft, breathable fabric lining offers a great in-shoe feel.
  • Molded foam insole for light underfoot comfort.
  • Full-length BioMoGo DNA is a blend of earth-friendly BioMoGo and responsive Brooks DNA, and has a gender-friendly cushioning design, making for a dynamic ride.
  • Differential: 4 mm
  • Toe Flex features a split-toe design that heightens forefoot flexibility and promotes the big toe to engage the runner's natural stability and power during push-off.
  • The heel is slimmed down and rounded to encourage contact points to shift forward, aligning the joints and creating optimal energy return.
  • Blown rubber pods provide reliable grip and traction.
  • Omega Flex Grooves allow for more natural forefoot movement and fluidity.
  • Built on an anatomical last for a better fit and feel.

The new Pureflow 3 feels very similar to my Pureflow 2s! They are NOT narrower across the forefoot. They are true to size and width compared to the 2s! Whoever says these shoes are narrower has it wrong! If you are a Pureflow 2 user, you will like the 3s. I've been running for 30 years and I have seen many ruinous updates to other shoes. Brooks did not ruin the shoe with this update. The burrito tongue now crosses over from medial to lateral (inside to outside). This is an insignificant change. Your foot won't tell the difference. All the changes I see (and feel) are minor tweaks. I commend Brooks on a nice update to a great shoe. By the way, my highest score is 4 since a perfect shoe does not exist.

I'd also recommend: Saucony Kinvara-4, Asics Gel-Lyte 33-2

I had a pair of the PureFlow 2 and I now have two pairs of the PureFlow 3. They are excellent shoes for running and getting around. The fit is snug but not restrictive. The sole and arch support are really nice and the flexibility creates a minimalist feel while still being supported. The colors are really great as well. I have the red and the black. In fact, I wear the black to work a lot and they fly under the radar really well.

I'd also recommend: Asics, Adidas

They feel lighter than they look! Stiff, but not too stiff. Not as squishy as Saucony Kinvara's which I was previously wearing. They're snug, yet roomy in the toe box. Seem durable but only time will tell. So far so good! The tongue is sewn all the way up on one side of the shoe. Snugness still applies. These seem like a good long distance or short distance running shoe. Only downside: The styling, on all three variations, will not win the wearer of these shoes any envious looks. Just nothing sexy about them.

I'd also recommend: Newton Gravity

I wear a women's 10 and I got this shoe in a men's 8 because I didn't like any of the women's styles. I got it as my primary running shoe and it has been great. It feels like more support than the women's shoes I was wearing before, and there is no problem with width, one thing I was concerned about.

Just returned from 2 months in Europe, walking on all kinds of surfaces with these shoes, and they are just great. Lots of cushioning, attractive and understated. Perfect for traveling in comfort, but probably not constructed in a way to withstand a steady pounding of a runner's routine. I'm buying another pair today to hold in reserve if they are discontinued at some point.
