I got to participate in the wear test of this shoe for Brooks during the spring of 2012, when the first generation of the Pure Cadences were out (which I owned a pair of before doing the wear test). I've had to keep my mouth shut on these, but now that they're out, I guess I can offer my thoughts on them. If you've worn the Pure Cadence v1.0 as I'll call it, nothing has changed ride-wise, same feel, cushion, everything. The difference is in the fit of the upper. Instead of using a traditional lace-up with tongue design, this version offered asymmetrical lacing with, kind of a "built-in" tongue. In other words, the tongue on these is part of the upper and kind of wraps over the top of your foot. The lacing system is a nice feature offering a different feel, but, I found the fit to be a bit less snug, and the forefoot seemed to be roomier than the v1.0 Cadences, almost to the point of being sloppy feeling. I simply prefer a little snugger feel in my running shoes so I was kind of put off by the feel, but this could be because my feet have low insteps. The shoe offers a decent ride so it really comes down to what kind of feel in the upper you want. If you haven't worn these, I say buy both v1.0 and v2.0 and return the one you don't like.

Great shoe. I just use them for walking around, so no running. Very comfortable and light. I usually wear a 9 but needed these in a 9.5.

Perfect fit for me. Perfect combination of support and cushioning. I own version 1 also, so I wanted to see if they really could improve such a good shoe and they did. The new upper has a nicer, more subtle look in my opinion. The asymmetric lacing and fixed tongue make sense. The new fabric seems to be more durable too. The best improvement is the little piece of reinforcement near the big toe where on the old version an odd looking crease develops. At 50+ I have a lot of joint issues. I don't do much in terms of distance but need a comfortable running shoe to do anything at all. With the Pure Cadence I am able to run a tad faster and with little to no pain. Best shoe I've owned in a long time.

Shoes are true to size, and the most comfortable running shoes of all time. They are stable and cushioned, so I love wearing them to clean house too! I wore the PC1's the entire time I was preggo, and these are for post baby, and because I love the pink.

These shoes are a great mixture of the traditional running shoe of Brooks and the new minimalist style of shoes. I would say that it is in the middle of the two. I am a mid-foot striker and this is a very comfortable shoe. They look great as well. Typical Brooks quality. I went with a 1/2 size larger and it feels great, probably could have stayed with actual size.
