This is a close-cut nylon shell, exactly what I was looking for to layer on top of a UA ColdGear shirt and a long-sleeve tech tee over that. This is meant to work as a wind breaker. It's good that it features Brooks' trademarked "hey you in the SUV on the cellphone watch where you're driving jackwagon!" nightlife yellow with reflective at the shoulders, back and chest, great zipper, vented shoulders. Bottom hem cinches up with an ingenious in-pocket stretch cord and stopper. Zips up to a closed neck, with a fold of material that prevents my neck fat from getting snagged in the zipper. There's no real bad, just a couple heads-up-type notes. The "moisture-resistant media pocket" measures just a bit larger than an iPod touch. Probably not a problem for most phones, but might be a tight squeeze for an iPhone. Also, be aware that the sleeves are cut close like the rest of the jacket. That is not a problem and sleeves are still plenty long when running and my arms are bent. Just know that if you reach way up to stretch out your shoulders and you are long-waisted (secret-code for tall guy with spare tire), the jacket may ride up above your waist band. But I did not buy this thing for apple picking. Add this shell and I am good down to about 30 degrees (most of what we get here in Nashville.) Once again, Zappos delivers what the big boxes cannot. The exact thing I was looking for, priced better than the big boxes.

This jacket is great! I bought it for my husband, an avid runner, and he says it's perfect. He especially likes being able to be seen when riding his bike to run our dog. My husband is not a big person but I still bought the Large to ensure a comfortable fit for layering, and the size is just right.
