Great shoe. The good. Super comfortable. I was so confident in the fit that I took these out for a 20 mile run the day after I bought them. They were great. I was able to think about my running, not about my shoes. The Rock Plate: Nice protection, but they don't feel heavy. Comfortable stride. The Cascadia had a nice toe off and padding without feeling squishy. The bad: The laces aren't great. But with minimal effort, they'll stay tied. The so-so. The traction is okay. It's not as good as the Xodus 2.0 in really sloppy conditions, but in moderate slick conditions and dirt it was fine.

The Cascadia 6 are better than advertised! Already been on several wet, root, rocky trail runs in New England and the Cascadia ate em all up. The sole is strong, yet comfortable. Toe guard came in handy on several occasions. Even when submerged in a stream bed the Cascadia felt dry in a matter of seconds. Amazing shoe. Go get em already. Nick P

I've been a Montrail trail runner for many years but feel that their product quality has dropped since being bought by Columbia, so I went searching for a new trail shoe. I run lots of rocky single-track in the Appalachians so need something with a good rock plate; some trail runners are road shoes with cosmetic changes to the uppers and a chunkier tread, so I contacted Brooks before getting these. Their Ghost3 is a wonderful road shoe and their rep assured me that the Cascadia's would run like the Ghost3 and had a good rock plate. I decided to give them a go. So, they live up to their billing very nicely. Fit is great; heel locks down well. The sole has good traction and the rock protection is very good without sacrificing flex. This shoe is not as robust as the original Montrail Hardrock which I consider the best rocky trail shoe ever, but still solid enough, and the Cascadia has a more comfy ride overall too. And you've gotta love the ruby red! I think I've switched trail runner brands. Keep up the good work, Brooks.

1st pair of Brooks running shoes and I have to say it probably won't be my last. I normally default to Nike because they fit my thin feet. No problem for the Brooks Cascadia - like a glove. Went on a short run yesterday and they were perfect!

Great style and very comfortable. I can still feel the random rock or stick through the sole even though this is supposed to be a trail shoe. Sole maybe needs to be a little stiffer. This is my 4th pair of Cascadia's. Overall this is a great shoe and I will buy them again. The Brooks Beast is also a great shoe for the road. Zappos is a great store with super fast shipping and an awesome return policy.

These shoes are sweet! I bought the Blue/Orange version. They feel like pillows on your feet. Absolutely zero break-in needed. Amazing. The best trail/running shoe I've ever worn. They look fantastic too. Not so sure about the bright Green or bright Red colors, but the Blue is very nice! The best part: They have a very thick and light sole. The cushioning is ideal for heavier folks. There are an abundance of excellent trail runners on the market right now. Cascadia is one of them for sure.

First time Brooks buyer. Long-time Adidas trail-shoe wearer. Thought I would try a new brand this season (Spring to Summer 2011) What a great, great shoe. The green color is striking in person, and I mean in a good way. No shoe has elicited more interest from Joe Public! What really matters is the fit and comfort. It feels great and very comfortable. Almost too comfortable, could wear these in my sleep! Highly recommended!

Just finished my first trail run with these shoes. The shoes are well made and a great fit for my wide forefoot/narrow heel/high arch feet, comfortable ride on flat trail. The problems began when I started switchback descents. Regardless of how tight I laced I could not get my feet to anchor to the sole. The upper stretched causing my feet to slide off the sole and roll, mostly on steep traverses, not good. Adequate shoe for running rolling flats but when things become more extreme or wet anticipate difficulties. RIP Montrail Vitesse!

These are great shoes. At first I thought the size I got (12) was a tad small, since I sometimes get 12.5 or 13, but after wearing them for a day or so, the soles started to fit my feet. Now they feel excellent.

Back to trail running after a long hiatus. These shoes are great when combined with Superfeet. I've always struggled with knee and shin issues and these shoes combined with good form and appropriate stretching are helping me to enjoy the many benefits of trail running without injury. I'm sticking with this shoe!

Nice shoe bit not very durable. Wore for a few runs and for. 24 hour adventure race and the grip is already showing substantial wear. Also the lacing system doesn't seem that durable and I fear will give out soon. A nice light trail runner, comfortable but they are not super durable.

With most brands of running shoes I wear size 13 and with New Balance I wear 12.5, but the size 13 Brooks Cascadia was too small so I bought a size 14, which was a bit too spacious. The Cascadia is almost a road shoe rather than a trail shoe. The vinyl around the toe is slightly more protective than on a road shoe and the tread is slightly more aggressive than on a road shoe. However, this shoe lacks important features to make it a real trail shoe. It does not have a rock plate or equivalent to protect your foot from sharp rocks and it is generally too flexible to be considered a real trail shoe. True trail shoes are more torsionally rigid in the mid section to protect the foot while on rugged terrain. In summary, the Cascadia seems like a good shoe for running on dirt roads or very well groomed tame trails, but if you are going long distances (like 50 miles ultras) on serious trails with sharp rocks you probably need more protection.

These are very cool looking shoes. As far as performance, they are more comfortable then I expected (6'3 and 220). They could use a little more arch support. The support and stability are good. They make for an above, average trail running shoe and I am glad I made the purchase.
