Bad buy - These shoes have no more comfort or support than a flip flop, way overpriced, a $50.00 New Balance is 10 times as good, very over rated, the description of this shoe is a farce. One of the worst and regretful purchases I've ever made.

The last version of the Beast put a little less emphasis on motion control. Brooks' Beast can be difficult to tell apart from one version to the next. This latest Beast may look similar, but it is a different animal. It's definitely more supportive, which I am very happy about. This shoe does a fine job of controlling a bad case of overpronation and flat arches. The shoe may feel somewhat firm walking around the house, but feels great on the road. Definitely well suited for a big guy 200+ lbs or anyone needing top end motion control and cushioning.

Motion Control! I like them a lot! Initially there was some pain adjusting to the motion control, but after a couple of miles it goes away. I would recommend this shoe to anyone with no/low arch.

Great shoe - I broke my heel 2 years ago and can only run in certain shoes. The beast is the best ever I hope brooks never stops making them.
Brands I'd also recommend: nothing has the fit and feel of the beast

It may look a bit clunky - If you need a supportive well made shoe, this is it! I have a wide, hard to fit foot plus a partially frozen ankle and some toe drop. This is the shoe that best keeps my foot steady. It was unnecessary to "break it in" as it fit well out of the box. I liked the older model and I like this one just as well. Might be a bit wider than a usual 4E.

Incredibly well constructed shoe! These are awesome shoes. My son pronates really badly and these shoes are the first that we have found that actually help him. His knees were sore for the first few days after wearing them as his legs got used to the new position. They are sturdy without being too heavy and really have a lot of structure to them to help the extreme pronator. He actually wanted me to buy several just in case they stop making them!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these shoes! I just got them and wore them dancing. NO blisters and they're a perfect fit. Couldn’t\'t be happier. I know I'll be back after the holidays to get the black patent leather ones and maybe a few others.

Good shoe - Only shoe that I have found for a fit big guy with flat feet who has had knee surgery great cushioning, great support and comfort. Have used them for years. Sizing is off compared to other shoes. Kinda expensive, but no other shoe I have found compares.

Great Walking Shoe! My son and husband have had numerous problems with finding a shoe for walking. This is the first shoe that feels good and that has lasted more than 3 months without abnormal wearing along the sides. Both my son and husband are big guys, weighing about 230 - 245lbs. These shoes are the best for comfort and wear.

Comfort out the box - These shoes were comfortable right out the box. I am a nurse and I wore them to work, I took my old shoes with me the first day so I could have some comfortable shoes to change into while breaking in the new shoes. When my eight hour shift was over, only then did I realize I never need to change shoes the whole day.

Great looking shoe in a beautiful red color. However, like the other reviewers, I found the heel strap to be too loose. Otherwise, it's another great Pliner shoe in a very classy style.

Another Happy Customer - The shoes arrived more quickly than we expected and were exactly what was ordered. Although appearance was the least important item, these shoes are attractive enough for casual wear, not just exercise. That particular model is furnished in a size that's hard to find (high instep and wide forefoot), and fit just as well as remembered from the previous pair. We will definitely be buying other products from Zappos.

Cure for over pronation - I am very pleased with the shoe. The beast has really helped in my quest for relief for sore ankles. I wear an arch support and the shoe and the arch work well together. I also would like to point out that the service from Zappos was outstanding.

Cushy! :) I'm a chick (tall, big feet, not toothpick) who used to run in the Addictions. Brooks redesigned (poorly) those, so I tried the Beasts. LOVE them even more. Lots of cushion. My legs tell me "THANKS!" every time I run in these.
