Really good construction with top quality materials. It has a nice little extra lace loop at the top of the tongue that helps keep it in place. I prefer the heel of my running shoes to be the highest part of the shoe (like Asics shoes). This one isn't that way but still feels comfortable enough to deal with. I bought these along with a pair of Montrail Sabino Trail GTX. I prefer the Montrails, even though they are heavier and less flexible than the Brooks, they were more comfortable for me and look nicer.

These are great shoes for the trail runner or anyone who likes to get a run in even when the weather isn't that great. The soles have great traction for going on muddy or slick surfaces and the upper is furnished with Gore-Tex which really does keep the wetness out when it's raining or snowing. These are especially nice to use outside in the winter because they're also much warmer than the normal Adrenaline. Another great shoe from Brooks.

I cannot count how many pairs of ASR's I've had since I started running 5 years ago. The are just a great shoe overall. Not the most cushioned shoe, but very stable for a pronator like me. I also run outside in the NH winters, and this version of the shoe is by far more durable than the basic ASR without Gore-Tex. A little stiff at first, but they seem to be breaking in nicely. Very happy with the improvement to the laces from the previous versions...much longer and stay tied.

Grips and rips well on pavement and the trail, though I'm a newbie to the trail, so these are worth checking out for the hyper trail runners. They work as advertised with water: just throw them on and hop wherever you feel you want to go.
