WW, Not Wide Enough - Unfortunately I will have to return this shoe. I was so excited to order it as the control of over-pronation was a big plus. Indeed, the balance and stability of the shoe is fantastic. However, the double wide is not wide enough for my super wide feet. It was comfortable at first, but then my smaller toes were squeezed too hard and with my delicate feet, I'm not willing to live with squeezed toes. Also, the top velcro strap is quite short, so I can foresee problems with lint sticking to the exposed rough part because the strap doesn't have enough reach. The insoles are great, in fact, if I were keeping the shoe, I don't know that I'd even have to use my orthotics in them because these seem tailor-made to help with pronation problems and provide excellent support. I'd trust these shoes not to skid in bad weather and to protect my feet. Another shoe that helps with pronation is New Balance, but those have toe boxes that are too short for me. They run too small and stiff and they are not deep enough to accommodate my orthotics. So far the only athletic shoe that has been long enough, wide enough, and deep enough for me is Saucony. I'm also going to try Pedors because neoprene is stretchy for my huge feet. Really wish these could have worked out because they are very good-looking for a young woman like me to wear.
Brands I'd also recommend: Saucony, Maybe Pedors, David Tate, Eccos

Great Shoe! These are one of the most comfortable shoes I have had. I have a big bunion on my right foot and I can still wear these shoes without discomfort! They don't hurt the bunion at all. The velcro straps are good if your feet swell during the day. You can loosen them without getting them too loose. There is a very good arch support in them. The soles help grip on the ice too. They are great shoes if you have sensitive, hurting feet. I would recommend these shoes to anyone!

Brooks sneakers - These sneakers are very comfortable and they fulfill my needs for a large toe box. I thought the more expensive Brooks would have more support, but did not see a difference.

Short strap on a good idea - I bought this style shoe for two reasons. The first reason was ease of getting shoes on and off quickly at the airports and the second was a swollen foot that needs more breathing room. The style would be perfect for both problems, but falls a little short. I rate this style less than perfect because the velcro straps are not long enough. I think a longer strap with tear-off type perforations would work better, that way the individual could customize the length to meet their own needs. Other than this the shoe is great. It is exceptionally comfortable and did not need any breaking in time.
Brands I'd also recommend: Addiction Walker laced shoe.

Loved them but... I was so sad to return these awesome shoes. They are true to size on my size 11EE feet. They do the impossible...they make my feet look two sizes smaller...really! The Fatal Flaw for me was that the tongue was just too short to give my nerve sensitive feet enough padding. Brook's Addition's Hook-and-Loop has the perfect construction for my particular pain issues and I can HIGHLY recommend them for people with any kind of neuropathic pain issues. So, off I go, back to the tried and true H&L's.

Addiction Walker V-Strap - These shoes are just as comfortable as the Addiction shoe that looks like a regular running shoe. I wanted velcro tabs so I could get through airport security faster. They are not pretty to look at so I am searching for wide leg black pants to cover up the velcro tabs.

Does the job - This shoe was recommended to me due to pronation, bone spurs in my ankle, and arthritis. My orthotic inserts fit without problem and shoe tightness is easily adjusted. It's one of the few shoes I can wear without ankle pain. I also bought this shoe in white, but the black is great for “blending in when traveling to Europe.

This is a great walking shoe - This shoe is very sturdy and offers lots of support. I love the V-strap instead of shoe laces, so easy to get on and off.

A keeper at last. I needed to order a half size larger, 11 up to 11.5, and wider, 3EE instead of W to get a comfortable fit for my painful and hammertoed feet; need lots of room as time goes by. I am sure if you have normal, healthy feet this shoe will fit perfectly as stated. Anyone looking for a shoe that has a roomy toe box and no irritating inside seams and rough inner construction (I find even in more expensive name brand walking shoes) will be thrilled with this shoe. I keep coming back to Addictions even when New Balance seem like "The Ticket".

Needed the non-pronating qualities reviewed here. They do prevent pronation, high arch or low. Comfortable, nice looking. Got them dirty in the yard and was able to quickly wash the surface, even the stitching was bright white again. Love the velcro (aching back). Room to add any insert you may prefer. Medium width is not narrow. I chose the wide for the bunion. Was sold on Brooks in '73! Stunned by the price 'back then,' but nothing fit better, they were rated the best fitness shoes in the world for many years. Now they have clearly expanded into the walker's market. Worth the dough.

I was so happy to find velcro-closure shoes in size 11.5 (I'm old and have big feet!) to wear to work. They are great shoes for walking on a concrete floor (WalMart) all day. The removable innersole works well because I have to use orthotics. Zappos got my order to me in only 2 days! The package was well wrapped and in perfect condition. I would have no problem ordering from them again. Thanks!

Excellent service from Zappos. Not satisfied with this style of Brooks shoe. The velcro closure catches on every style of slacks I wear & looked dirty after the first week. The support in the arch is not as good as previous Brooks shoes I have purchased for my plantar fasciitis. Since I ordered two pair, I kind of got stuck with them.

These are the most comfortable shoes I have found yet that fit my orthotics and provide cushioning and support for my poor aching, over-pronated feet. I highly recommend them.

I have three pair of Brooks Addiction Velcro-strap walkers and rotate them throughout the week. They are comfortable, supportive and wear well over time. I recently replaced my Monday/Thursday pair and was somewhat perturbed that the liner on the shoe had been changed, and that the tongue on the shoe is pieced with part leather/part liner. It's not a visual improvement, but doesn't seem to effect the comfort. I'll keep buying them as they have eliminated my need for orthotics; I walk 12,000 steps a day at work on cement and they are great shoes!

I couldn't find any shoes locally that fit well enough to be comfortable. I have fibro and shoes that don't fit well make everything worse. Not so thrilled with the look of these, but very comfy. They seemed a little tight when I ordered a D width so I exchanged for extra wide. After wearing a few times they stretched out a bit and I think the D would have been perfect. Could use a bit more arch support, but that was easily added. Zappos service was great. Exchange shoes came the next day!

Very comfortable from the first day; no break in needed. I guessed at the size (same as I take in Asics, 1 full size bigger than my regular shoes) and they fit perfectly. I wish someone would explain why the size difference! A month or so later I have worn them every day for walking and other exercise, and they are great. Plus, they come in black!
Brands I'd also recommend: Asics, if you like white shoes

I'm very happy with these shoes. They are lightweight, very comfortable, and have a little nerd-chic going for them. As a grad student, I walk to and from school (3 miles round trip), and have spent days walking around NYC very comfortably. The velcro makes them super easy to get on and off. The soles are thick enough that even if the ground is freezing cold, my feet are not. They fit me perfectly, but my feet are a little wide, so may not be the best for narrow feet. The one thing I've noticed that probably won't be the best when the weather is warm again is that they don't really breathe.
