These shoes are the best! My normal size in everything else is 7 1/2 narrow, but I have to order an 8 narrow in these. I have worn this Addiction over many years, and I hope they never discontinue it! Podiatrists and sports medicine people swear by this shoe. I use it for daily wear and walking, no running for this old lady, and it has style - does not look like an older person shoe! And it doesn't have a HUGE letter on it, if you know what I mean! Enjoy!

Third pair of Brooks Addiction that I have owned in the last three years and I am real pleased. This pair appears to be a bit tighter than the last two I have had, but they are still not yet broken in even though they are size 10, 4E. Look forward to many miles on my shoes. I am not a runner, but walk about two miles each day. Only a few manufacturers have my size in extra wide.

The Brooks Addistion support shoe, which is often rated a notch below the more expensive Brooks Beast, is for me, a better choice. The heel is a bit higher than the toe area, moreso than in the Beast. The support is ample for me and I have typical flat feet with pronation tentencies. While the Beast may have a bit more support, the Addiction is more flexible. These things vary from individual to individual, but the Brooks Addiction is kinder to my knees and back than any shoe I have tried.

I love the mesh on the shoe. I own a New Balance with the same mesh type. The mesh allows the foot to breath. Drastically reduces sweating & athletes foot. Makes for a more comfortable wear. Once you wear a mesh shoe it's kind of hard to go back to a shoe without. I wish the shoe were a bit softer with the padding. I also purchased a Spira shoe. The difference is like going from an entry level no frills plasticy type of car to a Cadillac. I also appreciate it coming in a dark color which allows me to wear this in Shul and not stand out too much. If it were all black, that would be still better.

I bought these to replace my Addiction 7's. The shoes seemed a little shorter, and I had to to order a 1/2 size up. I have very flat feet, and have been wearing Addictions as an every day shoe for several years, and have been very satisfied.

I am a 180 pound person who runs mostly on treadmills and trails. These shoes are exceptional. They provide good control of pronation and good cushion, too. They are very comfortable. I wear a size 12EE in New Balance shoes and these are 12.5EE. They are light and stable, I am thinking of replacing my trail runners with these.

Best Shoe for Troubled Feet - I have had four feet operations in the past three years. I am diabetic and I "had" a problem with the nerve damage caused by a prescription drug. I could not walk without pain, with or without other shoes. I remembered that when I played golf years ago the the Brooks shoes were comfortable and I always walked the golf course. I ordered these shoes and I walk without pain now. I would recommend them to anyone.

A little disappointed...I LOVED the Addiction 7s. When I was buying he Addiction 7s I tried 10, 10 1/2 EE EEEE and about 8 other kinds and brands and...Zappos makes it so easy to try and compare and return and buy...I wish all of my hobbies had a place to shop like Zappos, but anyway...The 8s are not as soft, not as comfortable, did not break-in, hurt my little toe, and were smaller and tighter than the 7s. I wish I had 20 pairs of the 7s in my closet. Brooks, Ebay...are out of them now. Maybe EEEE would have fit or 1/2 size larger, but these were not for me. BROOKS - BRING BACK THE 7s! I am trying Nike Air Zoom Triax 11, New Balance 1011, Saucony Omni 7...for my wide flat feet. By the way, I don't run, just like comfy shoes to bum around in.

Not as Comfortable as I Expected - I need a wide size (4EEE) and Brooks seems to be the only brand that fits well. I've had two other pairs - Beast and Addiction 7 -- and I remember both being more comfortable when they were new than the 8s are. Although I haven't worn them much yet, they seem to be overly stiff and the insole isn't as cushy as I would prefer. Hopefully they'll soften up as I wear them. And I'm not really a fan of all the plastic trim on the outside, but that seems to be common on all athletic shoes these days.

Shoe Arch: Excellent arch support Shoe Width: Felt wider than marked
Not for the narrow footed - This shoe was recommended by a specialty shoe store because they felt the shoes run a little narrow. They did not have my size at the store in inventory so they suggested I get them from Zappos. It would save me the travel time to the store plus we could return them if not satisfied. I have a long narrow foot. 16AA or 16B. I guess if you’re big you’re supposed to be wide, too. They are a great shoe but they still have more wiggle room across the toes than we were expecting. Other reviews we read said they ran small but not in our case. They felt the same as some Adidas I tried on at the store. Still they are a comfortable running shoe and one of the best fitting shoes I could find. And I buy when I find shoes that will fit. You don't find too many narrow shoes in my size that feel good and have support and look good too. I hate wearing a shoe that makes my feet look bigger than they are. These do not do that. Being a walker, runner and bicycle rider I pride myself in staying healthy and fit. These shoes help portray that image while still fitting my feet.

Not as comfortable - This is my third pair of Brooks Addiction and so far I am disappointed. Not as soft and spongy as the first 2 pair, may take more time to break in.

Not as good as the old ones - The old design was better; this one is uncomfortable in comparison. Overall, I would not have bought them if I would have known how much different they were. The toe area is smaller.

Great walking shoe for the flat foot - I love this shoe. Both are great walking shoes for the flat footed man. Before I found these, my shoulders would ache after walking long distances (5-10 miles). These shoes - no pain.

1/2 size smaller/narrower than the Addiction 7 - I bought the Addiction 7 and was sold on the brand and model. I ran 15-20miles a week in the shoe and loved it! When I ordered the 7's, I found it to be true to size and width. I ordered the Addiction 8, same size/same width as the 7's, and found that it fit about a 1/2 size smaller and the width was a size narrower.

Excellent walking shoes - These are my eighth pair. After 500 walking miles (my husband wears his own Brooks A-8's) we retire them to work shoes. Of course we have worn A-7's and A-6's in the group before A-8's came out). They suit us. Fit, durability, and comfort!

Good shoe for me - I prefer a shoe with a straight last and extra support to help with pronation. This shoe is great. It feels comfortable, laces easily, and takes my orthotics without a problem.
