I have smallish feet (size 7) and have the hardest time finding socks that do not end up with the heel halfway up my calf. I ordered the small for these and they are absolutely perfect! They are super comfortable; I love the way they hug my feet and they are the perfect size. They worked great for hiking. There are no blisters and no bunching up like I usually get. I love them.
