Birki's Reviews
I got these for my husband who has really bad feet. He loves these shoes and can wear them with or without socks. He calls them his "cool" shoes. They are really cute on his big feet.
The insole and sole are very hard, with hardly any give. This makes the insole not so comfortable as I hoped it would be. The Anatomically correct cork/latex footbed is not so correct, and the toe area is uncomfortable. They are still good shoes, and I decided to keep them with the hope that my feet will adjust.
Ordered these in a size 37. I wear a 6 or 6 1/2 and they were huge! The removable insole was the right size, but the shoe was so large that I couldn't even walk without them falling off. I'll have to return them. Very good arch support, however.
I bought these to wear with jeans out and about. I live where there is a considerable amount of rain and I want a water resistant shoe. I bought these shoes because I like my toes to have wiggle room and not feel like my foot is squeezed into some sort of preshaped coffin. I also have a pair of pro-fi's which are very sloppy on my foot. These are less sloppy and look better. I wore these shoes for a couple of days before they felt super comfy. The shoes rubbed a little on the top of my foot for the first few wearings. Today I went for a walk with the dog who pulls so hard I figured it was better to run with her which is what I did in these shoes, without any problems. The only other shoes I prefer over these are Five Finger - but alas, I will not wear those in the winter or while it is raining. During the winter these shoes seem to keep in the cold so I wore thicker socks. I like the slip on. I like to rinse them off (dog poop). I like the look (I am a casual gal - jeans and a a tee shirt). I like the feel (they may possibly be heavier than most shoes, but I like the weight - not too heavy and it is better than a leg weight). I have owned these for a month. My profi's I have owned for two years and are holding up well.
Love these "shoes!" I have had a pair for about 20 years, and ordered a new pair for using as chef shoes.
So uncomfortable! And I love my Birkenstock Arizonas and closed toe Bostons. But these just drive my feet nuts! Maybe it's the harder canvas fabric rubbing me, but they don't feel like classic Birks. Plus the canvas unravels a lot - makes them look look worn and beachy, but might annoy some. They do look fantastic on, really hype and stylish, but most days they start to annoy my feet after less than an hour. I commend Birkenstock for trying newer and younger styling, but this was a big waste of money for me!

These are great Shoes for work or play. I got these based on a recommendation from a friend at work. We both have plantar fascitis, and she swears by these shoes. So I ordered a pair since she is always raving about them. The first day I noticed that they were awesome. I could see how some people might have trouble with the breaking in period. But it was not a problem for me. These are very comfortable. And by that I mean that after over 16 hours on my feet they are still comfortable. When you first put them on, they do not feel cushiony or pillowy, they actually feel kind of hard. But just go with it, and after a long day you will see that those cusiony shoes are killing you, but these, still fresh and comfortable feeling. So I gave a overall rating of five stars and five for comfort, but I can only give two stars for style. I mean come on, they look dorky. Also, I would like to note that I have wide feet at the toes and these even give me plenty of room. So if you have narrow feet, you will probably feel like you are swimming in these.
We received the ordered shoes very quickly, but they were a size too small for my wife. I returned the shoes for an exchange and unbelievably we received the correct size shoes the next day! I call that service! My wife loves them!
Seriously? Beware, these were huge! I wear a 7.5 or 8 and had to order a size 4! Overall, I like the shoe as I am in surgery all day long and these will work great.
I go for comfort shoes. I read the reviews on this one and tried it. These are my first shoes for this brand. I still have to break them in. I wore them twice and the fabric is still tough so it still bothers my feet. I tried wearing them with socks but they felt better without socks. It is not as bendable. I will break it in some more and see the comfort level.
These are the worst shoes I've ever tried. They are heavy and stiff. I will stick to wearing my favorite shoes: Keens.
Buy a size smaller than you wear. I always wear an 8.5 shoe which would be the 39. I listened to the other reviews and bought the size smaller 38. I am so thankful for the tip. The shoes fit perfect with just enough extra room. If I would have bought my standard size I would have had to return them. These shoes are super comfy and easy to clean.
I was excited to get these but had to return them. This shoe is not for you if your toes are more "squared off" instead of tapered with a longer big toe. The toe angle was too steep and my center toes uncomfortably hit the end of the shoe. As usual though, Zappos had fast, great service!
My first experience was not as positive as it should have been. I ordered a regular width shoe, but received a narrow width. I am not able to use and because I live in Canada, it is more of an inconvenience to ship it back. I would like a refund please.
I have worn Birkinstocks for 25 years so know what I'm talking about. My Birki's Super-Birki are especially comfortable for arthritic feet like mine. They are super roomy and do not press on those tender areas of the foot. I wear with socks but also nice without socks. I would highly recommend for young feet and old feet like mine -- keeps me away from the podiatrist and surgery just a little bit longer.
I love these in red! but they are just not right for my foot. Lucky those who can wear them. The soft foodbed option might have worked; or not.
Such a cute shoe, and the perfect bright red! If only the toe weren't a little short, I'd wear it more often!
I love these shoes! I got hooked this summer with a pair of Birkenstock sandals that corrected the beginnings of Plantar Facitis. I bought these to go into fall and winter since sandals were not going to cut it. They are great for walking around in dewey grass, rain etc. I would note that you must wear socks with these as they can get hot and sweaty... smartwool socks have been perfect! Move over Crocs cause these Birkenstocks rock!

Unlimited enjoyment.
