Quality rapidly declining - I've now owned three pairs of the Bostonian Dennison, and suffice it to say that this will be the last. My first pair was great - a high quality shoe that didn't show any signs of poor production. Second pair I had, the soles began to crack very quickly, the heels wore much faster than usual, and leather began to separate from the sole. Third pair, same problems as the first, only a lot faster. All the reasons I like the shoe initially are gone. While the shoe was great at first, it seems like the quality has rapidly declined (new manufacturer, cost savings measures, who knows?), and I don't intend to buy any more Bostonians.

Another great shoe from Bostonian (my 5th pair). Fantastic classic styling with contemporary comfort. I thought the "tumbled" leather in the midsection of the upper would look out of place from the smooth leather toe and heel, but thankfully, it just looks like well broken-in leather. All leather sole and interior as expected for a quality dress shoe. Comfortable from day one; a little tight with my SuperFeet inserts, otherwise would fit perfectly; I'm sure they will stretch a little with time. Comfortable and stylish cap-toe with the usual amenities expected of a quality shoe.
Brands I'd also recommend: Florsheim, Johnson & Murphy

I've bought multiple pairs of these shoes over the years. They were very comfortable and well made when they were made in Italy. I've seen the quality and comfort deteriorate over the years. The shoes are now made in India. I think that I also had a pair from China once. I don't think that I'll buy these shoes again. I think that the corporate goal was to keep cost down, but unfortunately, I think that quality has suffered.

The shoe doesn't look like it does in the image. The leather on the mid part of the shoe is darker, less shiny and of a darker texture than the rest of the shoe. I wish I had known that before buying. Comfortable though and, even though I wasn't happy about the two tone leather when I first bought the shoe, it has kind of grown on me.

This was the third pair of Bostonian Dennison shoes I have owned and the first I purchased via Zappos. The shoes looked and fit good. I am completely satisfied with the shoes and with Zappos.

First shoe I bought off of Zappos, particularly Bostonian Brand. Have to say the shoe is very uncomfortable, hopefully they will break in but as of now terrible choice of shoe. I worked in the city one day, which made the bottom of the shoe dirty or else I would send them back immediately.
Brands I'd also recommend: Cole Haan

Very nice looking shoe! As noted in other reviews, the leather at the toe and laces is smooth while the rest of the shoe is textured. I think it looks classy, but just be aware before you buy it.
