These shoes are so comfortable, didn't need to break them in. I have problem feet can't wear heels anymore but these felt great and look good. I love Borns. I also bought two pairs of Born boots and they were also very comfortable. Can't go wrong. Buy them; you'll be happy you did!

The usual Born cushioning plus this sturdy lower heel height make these my favorites to wear with jeans or shorts. These are great for folks with wide feet or high insteps and require no breaking in. I bought these in both black and brown since I know they will be my main casual sandals this season. So glad spring has finally arrived and I can let my toes show again in these comfy sandals.

I feel I need to preface my review by stating that I am a Born fan and go the distance to buy their shoes. I have come to expect quality, comfort and outstanding design elements. Now for the true heart of things in my opinion. The 'Melyssa' is not a pretty offering by any stretch of the imagination. It is a functional sandal, will baby your feet but has no other appeal on a fashion level. This shoe looks better in the photograph, a much deeper black than the pair I received. It actually looks a bit on the cheap side, especially in the platform and heel. Disappointing with this price point. I see this slide as the footwear I will don when I have a long day of walking, airport travel or simply feel like kicking back from vanities of life. From the box to your feet, it provides instant comfort. If you are looking for something with a bit of zing, I suggest you continue searching for another style. I am keeping the Melyssa because I purchased them with realistic expectations after reading Zappos reviews.

I'm not sure if it's my feet or the shoes, but they cut into my arch where the upper arch of the sandal attaches to the footbed. Maybe it just comes up too high, or maybe it's the stitching style? Sent them back. Too bad, because they were really cute.
