These shoes are absolutely wonderful. Everything you expect from the Born brand--comfort, simple design, and top notch workmanship for a reasonable price. The leather upper is extremely supple. There was virtually zero break-in time. They're my favorite shoe to go with jeans and a button up shirt for a casual night out or a date with my wife. I wore a pair of Born shoes (sadly discontinued) through 5 year's of college. I fully expect these Hemlock shoes to last just as long!

Very nice styling and the great arch support I’ve come to love from Born. I usually wear a 10.5 but wound up getting a 10. I have narrow feet and these fit well. I wouldn't recommend for someone with wide feet.

Right out of the box I had these on for 7 hours, they are very comfy, the leather is soft and they look great with a pair of faded levis. I have been looking for a pair of boots like these in for ages in women's but a friend said try looking in men's and there they were. The quality of construction of the boot is great and they aren't bulky. A great little boot for causal wear.

The picture makes these boots look a bit grey, but in person they are definitely much blacker. Also, the soles seem to slant a bit inside, but after putting in gel inserts, they feel extremely comfortable. I think these are some of the best boots I've ever worn. Comfortable and stylish for sure!

Usually wear 11.5 D, but the 11 D fits perfect. This is a very comfortable casual dress boot. It looks great with boot-cut jeans that have some bell to them. Arch support and padded insole feel great. No break in time required.

I bought these boots about 1 year ago and am just now getting around to write a review. Pretty timely, huh? Nevertheless, these are terrific boots. They look great with jeans and chinos (Gavin fit from Banana Republic). They're certainly not dress boots, they're for casual attire as the black is more of a matte finish v. shine. For me the build quality has been everything I've expected from a Born shoe. They're durable and very comfortable (although full disclosure, I wear them about 2-3 times a week and never two days in a row as I always rotate my shoes). Finally, mark my words that Born shoes run at least 1/2 size too big (i.e., I wear a 10.5 and I ordered a 10 and they fit perfectly). And, of course, is there any better company than Zappos? Hmmm...nope. Wear them in good health!

Great boots! Leather is good quality, and they seem to be very well built. Break-in was minimal. Two days after I got the boots, I walked all over New York City in the aftermath of a snowstorm. My feet felt great and the boots held up to the elements very well.

The Hemlock is my second pair of Born shoes. I love this pair even better than my first. They’re amazingly comfortable--very supple and high quality upper leather with great stitching. The sole is sturdy, and the heel has a stacked hard leather insert like very expensive shoes. These are well worth the money, and I’d buy another pair in a heartbeat. I had originally purchased some Dr. Marten’s Rocco Chelsea boots, but these Hemlocks from Born are a lot more sophisticated looking while keeping the same casual feel.

Coolest boots I've ever owned - These boots are AWESOME! Look great with jeans. Very, very comfortable. Padded inside. They were a little tight at first, but loosened up very quickly. I'll probably buy another pair when these ware out.

Super comfort - I bought these boots for my husband, as he owns a few Born shoes that he loves because of how comfortable they are. I wanted to give these boots a try and they didn't fail me. He was pleasantly surprised and now he wears them all the time. Additionally, I am glad I purchased them from Zappos as they also delivered a top-notch service!
