Ace review - Hve climbed in Boreals for 25 years now. Bought my first pair of Ballets out of the back of Bachar's truck. Had Cats, the precursor to the Ballet, which pre-dated the Ace, have resoled 3 pairs of shoes 11 times, my Aces 4 times now, climb everything in them. Love the foot support. Gave away my Mythos after 3 outings.

Wow - Boreal makes the best, hands down. Can't really compete with handmade. I have high arches and this fits me like a glove...so much support. I'm climbing 5.10s now and I was 5.9 before.

Review of Boreal's Ninja climbing shoe - I purchased this as a birthday gift and had to return it twice as it runs VERY small. The owner is very pleased with the shoe, having had the same style years ago. It's a great gym shoe, and works well in outdoor situations as well, just not as much support as a lace-up style.

Good shoes - These shoes worked good on everything. Best on slightly overhanging routes. Get them!

Excellent edging shoe!I've used the Mad Rock Flash and the Five Ten Galileo before and after some initial apprehension about the rubber, I have to say this is the best shoe I've had on my feet so far. I still think the Onyx rubber on the 5-10s is better, but the Crux edges much better regardless. If you are used to smearing small footholds, you will hate this shoe initially. Give it a chance and as your technique improves, you'll fall in love with it! One note on sizing. I wear 9.5-10 street and my feet were literally blue and in severe pain in a 9.5 initially. After a month, I can go for an hour or two without taking the shoe off if needed (~1/2 size stretch).

Like a glove - These fit very well. They are as tight as they are supposed to be, but not too tight -- no pain. It wraps my foot like a latex glove, even the sole. The only thing that would make me like this shoe more is if it were made Onyx Stealth rubber. But that would only make it about 5% better. I ordered my regular shoe size and am happy with that.

I like my pair for climbing the Black Hills granite - I am basically a climbing rookie. I bought these shoes last fall on my first climbing experience primarily because they fit my foot more comfortably than any of the other 3-4 pair of various lower cost climbing shoes I tried on. That weekend I climbed 4 or 5 times (top roped) on pitches ranging from 5-4 to 5-7 throughout the granite outcrops of the Black Hills. This past Memorial Day weekend '07 I climbed the granite of the Black Hills again; this time with pitches up to 5-8 or 5-9. I like the shoes now that they are starting to fit my foot a little better (maybe my foot is fitting the shoe). Granted I don't have any other point of reference, so take this review for what it is: One beginner climber’s opinion.

A sensitive shoe.Slightly asymmetrical, very precise. I like the placement of the straps, especially the one higher up allows you to fit the heel and arch snugly. The tongue is fat; it seems to add some comfort, without any loss of sensitivity. Like all Boreal shoes, buy them in your street shoe size, they will be very tight at first, but will stretch about 1/2 a size within a month of heavy use.

Great shoe - I love this shoe. The toe on them was great--very sharp.I'm wide in the fore-foot and narrow in the heel, and they fit great.I guess the rubber could've been a little stickier, but the comfort of the shoe more than made up for it. Now that I've worn them down, I'm going to get them re-soled with five.ten rubber, and they will be, possibly, the best shoe ever.
