The product description says the circumference is 17" but it has to be mislabeled because the boot is so tight around the calf. And you cant remove the lining which makes the boot even tighter. Also, the ankle area bunches when walking.

Got these in both an 8 and 9. Nine (9) was way too big (I'm an 8 1/2), 8 was perfect. Unfortunately even though these say circumference is 17" (my exact calf size), they do not fit at the calf at all. Otherwise these were cute.

Great boot and seems to run true to size. The only reason I'm returning is because they were too tight in the calves. It said they were 15" or 17" but I don't believe it as upon measurement my calf is 14" love the look but made me claustrophobic.

These boots are everything I was looking for. I'm normally a 7.5, so I ordered a size 7 and they fit well: snug enough to keep them on and loose enough to get good movement. I did not experience the tightness in the calf area others did. I have enough room to comfortably tuck my jeans into them. We just went through a lot of flooding and they kept me dry, warm, and steady on my feet. Now, I use them to walk the dogs through the fields that are currently muddy swamps; I cross creeks and streams in them and they continue to look stylish. I love how easy they are to clean...just hose them off! I'm looking forward to using them for my outdoor activities this winter since they are rated for cold weather. Thanks Zappos for another awesome purchase!

This is my 2nd pair. They are all I wear in the winter. And I always get compliments on them. I can wear them with thick wool socks or regular socks. My feet stay dry and warm. That is the goal since I have had frostbite on 4 toes. Frostbite is not a problem with these.

I absolutely love these boots! They are great for cooler, wet weather. My plan is to wear them fall throughout the winter. Please be advised that the calf circumference listed here is incorrect. On the Bogs website, the circumference is 15". The other reviews are correct as well, the lining also makes the circumference a little tighter. They are incredibly warm and very comfortable. Also, please note the weight of these boots. If you are looking for something that is lightweight, these are not the boots. They are a bit heavy, but I don't mind that either. Overall, I'm incredibly pleased with this purchase.

I'm not sure they are making these boots for, but they aren't going to fit many people. The top of the boot is too tight even without putting your pants inside them. I wear a size 2 pants, and I don't have a large calf muscle, and they were too tight for me. If you have pencil legs these are for you, if not, find something else. I was bummed because they were cute and really warm but not comfortable at the top. I think they would actually end up hurting if you wore them very long. They need to make them wider at the top.

Just as many people have commented, these were too tight around my calves. Otherwise, the boot would have been exactly what I was looking for, I liked the look and idea of the boot very much. It was just very uncomfortable trying it on, and I can't imagine attempting to tuck any pant legs in or walking around town in them.

These have been wonderful for our wet muddy winter. As people have mentioned, they are snug right along the very top of the boot. I think they have loosened up some in this spot but not a ton.

These boots are very cute, very heavy and extremely tight around the calves. Other reviews said they would stretch but I couldn't risk losing circulation. They're going back. Thank god Zappos makes returns easy.

I am unable to tuck my pants into these boots because they are too tight at the top and I am thin. Will be giving them to my 70 pound daughter. They are very cute and warm, as are all the Boggs.

I found that other reviewers are correct about the tight top. I can tuck jeans in, but it's snug. Seems to be stretching a bit after 3 days of wear. The foot part is largish so if you are a half size, go down. Like the fabric pattern, like that it can fold up over the knee for extra warmth, and so far they kept my feet warm in snow and dry in slush. The treads work well. Not the most trim of styles, but they are snow boots, what do you expect?

Like most of the other reviewers have said, these boots were just too small for me in the calf. The fold-over top takes away about half of the opening. Also, I ordered an 8 (usually wear 7½) and they were too big. Too small in the calf and too big in the foot means a return for me. It is too bad because these are really cute and warm!

These are sturdy and on the heavier side, but I haven't cared about that because the color and style are so darn cute. My calves fit just fine in them, and I'm not on the skinny-calf side!
