I purchased these boots from Zappos several weeks ago. They are my 3rd pair of Blundstones, but the first pair of 510's (black). Both previous pair had been the standard brown 500's. I wear Blundstones 90% of the time and over the years have come to appreciate their consistent quality, comfort, durability and good looks. With the purchase of the 510's, I've had my first taste of disappointment with their product. The 500's I own are Australian made. These 510's were produced elsewhere. This in itself wouldn't bother me, except that the quality of materials and build has suffered in the change. The leather is not as thick or well processed. It feels stiff and brittle - not supple like the 500's I've owned. I can't help but think that Blundstone has cheapened their product in order to hold costs down. I would prefer they raised the price and maintain their quality, as I can no longer recommend the 510's - especially for the price.

They look more like a leather rain boot than a rustic leather boot, but I'm guessing they'll look better as they age. Regarding sizing, I typically wear a men's US 11 sneaker and bought two pairs before settling on AU 9.5 (US 10.5). Also, they're a little roomy, so I'd recommend wearing thicker socks with them.

These are as good as always. I am not sure what people are complaining about when they say the quality is not what it used to be. These just arrived to replace an ancient pair of the same boots, and I do not notice much difference at all. They are well-made, comfortable, and look good. I do recommend sizing down a half-size though, as they run large.

This is my fourth pair of Blundstone 510s and I've worn each pair for years and years. A great boot - comfortable and durable.

Great boot. Looks good, makes foot look smaller (I'm a size 10). I didn't keep it because I have a painful large toe which needs a lot of room around it and I could have used a tiny bit more space. I would say they run very slightly shorter than their US equivalent. I ordered a 7.5, equivalent to a 10, and it felt more or less like an 9.8 or 9.9. Still, because this is a great, handsome product, I give it a 5 star overall grade. I am also marking it true to size because it is closer to being true-to-size than not. An important thing to note: This company makes a series of boots that look virtually identical, but have slight differences in fit. I also ordered the virtually identical style BL558, which had a higher toe box but felt ever so slightly shorter than the 510. Neither pair was a perfect match for me, and I decided to return both and go with Clark Wave, which gives my big toe all the room it needs. A note about this company: They have an interesting approach. They make the same style boot in many almost indistinguishable variations. If you look at their women's boot selection, you'll see 10 pairs that look almost identical, but each has a different model number. It would be helpful if the company wrote a short guide to its products, which says something like: 'within your size, if you are looking for a bit more toe height, then x style is for you. If, however, your foot is slightly long and thin, then Y is for you.' I bet they would get a lot more orders - and gratitude - if they explained their quite progressive philosophy (at least this is my understanding of their philosophy from the brief encounter with these boots).

These are my all-time favorite boots. Comfortable after about a 10-minute break-in period. I have them in brown, too. I finally had to replace my first pair of black ones because after 10 years, the leather was very scarred on the toe tip and no amount of polish or shoe repair was helping. And the sole had a crack in it, also impossible to repair. But I simply couldn't live without them, so I was so pleased to see that Zappos now carries the brand.

I am a airline pilot and these boots are my winter wear choice. Very comfortable, pull on in seconds, and after two years look brand new. They shine up awesome. Only knock it the little pull up thingies catch your pants, and bunch up if your not careful. Buy without hesitation.

This is the third pair of Blundstones I've owned in 5 years. My first pair, which I've worn pretty much every day since 2005 finally gave out after walking the streets of Los Angeles, New York, China, and most of Europe. I bought a pair of the work boots at around the same time and am still wearing them on construction sites without any sign of the soles wearing thin. I've tricked both pairs out with gel-soles and plan on buying another pair when these wear out. I highly recommend these boots to anyone who wants quality footwear and has high expectations for how their shoes hold up. You can't go wrong with these shoes!

I had a pair of these for ten years. I wore then until the soles gave out. The leather was still in perfect condition, just comfortably worn. I'm happy to have this new pair to break in and enjoy for the next decade, hopefully.

I had a pair of these in the brown, and they have been amazing. I\'ve had them for a few years, and for about a year I was wearing them every day almost. They are warm enough to be a good city boot throughout the winter and cool enough to be worn in throughout the shoulder seasons too (here in New England). Stylish, comfortable on long walks, and highly functional.

Love the shoes. I read others' reviews to help dial in the size and was happy to find I made the right choice. They are stiff out of the box. I suggest wearing them for short periods of time (with socks!) for the first month or so. I was really pleased to get them earlier than promised, very smart way to create a loyal customer.

My present pair still has a lot of life left in them. Just want a backup for when the time comes. This is an incredibly versatile, very durable boot. I work in large sports venues and cover a lot of ground in the course of a day. My BL510's have a ton of miles on them, they break in very well. Soft enough to conform to the shape of your feet over time, and still maintain a ruggedness that makes them last and last. Also very stylish for stepping out at night.

Those are the best shoes ever! For the first four or five times I wore them, it was kind of difficult to slip them on. The elastic bands and the "neck" itself were on the rigid side. After that they slip on really easy, still maintaining some degree of arch support. I wear them to work, and now that we are deep into summer (August) they are slightly hot (no kidding!). The leather is not lambskin, so that isn't as soft, but that is exactly what I like. The inside leather, fabric and insole are very comfortable. I love those shoes!

My first pair of Blundstone's lasted over five years...these are my second pair. I love them, they are comfy and water resistant. Note that they are large for their size (assuming you make the normal AU->US size conversion) - they kind of assume that you are wearing thick socks. If you don't, you might want to order a 1/2 size smaller.

I've been yearning for a pair of Blundstones since I first saw them on a trip to Europe over ten years ago. Since that time I've moved to Alaska where it seemed they would be even more practical than in my native Texas. This year I finally decided to take the leap and order some I planned to use as work boots in an Alaskan office casual environment. I did a lot of research about the sizing, and even found a printable sizing tool, and came to the conclusion that I'm a solid Australian size 10. I don't think I've ever been so anxious for to get a pair of shoes in my life -- I checked the tracking information a couple times a day while I waited. When they finally arrived and I tried them on I was crushed. My long and very narrow feet swam in the boots. I imagined a tighter fit. But I realized the nine would be too short so I looked for solutions. I realized that some companies ship these boots with an insert to compensate for skinny footed people like myself, but my shipment didn't include this piece. Today I visited a Juneau ski shop and after the fellow there pulled the same style insert out of his boot fit kit and I threw it in my boot the shoe became the perfect fitting piece of foot gear I imagined it would be. So be advised, all the Aussie sites point out Blundstones are like clogs or outdoor sandals, and say be prepared for a loose fit, but if you aren't willing to accept that and you have thin feet you can snug them to a perfect glove-style fit with one two millimeter fit insert from your local boot or ski shop. Now that I've solved the wide shoe skinny foot problem I know I'll cherish these boots for years and already have my eyes on the brown version too. It's worth noting that I use Superfeet insoles on top of the insert and with that setup the boots have great arch support too.
