I call these my magic dancing shoes! We started ballroom lessons and didn't take the plunge right away for shoes, but these make all the difference. The suede bottoms give plenty of slide and glide action, and the ankle strap makes you so confident that you're not going to lose a shoe in the middle of a turn. The heel height and width was perfect; not too high, not too skinny. A really solid feeling on the dance floor. The fit was great, but I usually need a wide shoe, so they may be too wide for a narrow person. I love the larger sizes that Zappos.com offers. This is my new "shoe store."

I got this mostly for salsa dancing. I already had an Aris Allen 30's T strap with 3 inch heels, and wanted to have something more revealing and sexy with lower heels for comfort. It looks so sexy and cute on. I loved the thick, stable-but sexy low heels. Style-wise, my only complaint is that the sole in front of the toe sticks out a little too much in a pointy fashion (almost half an inch past my toes). The real problem with this shoe is that, like most other dance shoes of this category, it has very thin sole under the balls of feet. It's so thin, you can feel all the straps that go underneath your balls of feet. Ouch (who cares about having the flexible sole, if your feet are hurting like b*tch!?). After dancing on this for only 20-30 minutes, my balls of feet feel like they're on fire. I actually developed some very painful balls of feet and arch pain after I danced in these all night (5-6 hours). Thankfully it was gone after several days spent in my Merrells and in bed, but it definitely made me afraid to dance in these shoes again for awhile! All in all, I have decided to keep these because 1) I have found that using "Dr Scholl's for her High Heel Insoles" works great, giving necessary arch support/cushion and balls of feet cushion this shoe seriously lacks for me to comfortably dance (having balls of feet cushions only didn't do anything at all, I have become a convert for these insoles). Now I'm able to do 2 hour dance sessions comfortably, though I haven't tested them for all-night dancing yet, I have good feeling about it and will try soon. 2) I just love this particular design. I feel very sexy in an understated way in them, and the heels feel so stable. I did end up buying another pair of Aris Allen shoes with lower heels, which doesn't look as sexy as these but helluva lot more comfortable (and of course, I use the gel cushions with all my heels). I'm getting very frustrated with the lack of sexy, comfortable, low heel shoes on the market! I'm considering taking this pair to the cobbler to see if they can glue extra layer of leather underneath the balls of feet, to add more cushion.. Has anyone tried this?

I love these shoes for dancing. Very well padded inside and with suede soles for pivoting. I can dance all night without foot pain. I also have Bloch Jasmin in two colors. I received these shoes in one day and they were cheaper than the dance shoe store.

This is my fifth pair of Bloch dance shoes. I have tried other brands, some more expensive and some less, but Bloch is the only brand that is consistently comfortable on my feet. Thank you, Zappos! You carry more styles of Bloch shoes than any other website I have found.

Love these shoes. I use them for salsa dancing. They are very comfortable. The heel is a great height and thick enough that it gives good support, not like a thin heel which is more wobbly. I love dancing in these shoes. I seem to like Bloch shoes the best for comfort and performance for salsa.

Additional Brand Information

Bloch’s philosophy of listening to dancers is still as strong today as it was when Jacob Bloch made his first pair of pointe shoes in 1932. Bloch arrived from Europe in 1931 at the height of the Great Depression and began making shoes by hand in the workshop where he lived.

Bloch loved watching ballet and visited many dance studios. At one such studio, he noticed a young dancer who was having trouble staying on pointe. Bloch promised he would make her a better pair of shoes, and so he did. After that, Bloch’s reputation for making good dance shoes spread rapidly.

At Bloch, the respect the company has for its clients' art is infinite. Contributing to a dancer's artistry, in even the slightest way is the ultimate Bloch goal. Admittedly jealous of their clients' artistic ability, Bloch is proud to contribute confidence and beauty through the best dance footwear in the world.

A great choice. They are very comfortable and can be worn for a long time without excessive foot fatigue. I wear them for swing dancing and they were great. I agree with the other reviewers, a great set of shoes and pretty on the foot!

I am a new dancer and these shoes are very comfortable with a solid heel, and very attractive. However, the buckle on one shoe came off the second time I put them on, and I\'m disappointed about that.

I have purchased a lot of dance shoes, but this is the first time I have bought them online. As always in the past, Zappos has provided a product that is always what I hoped it would be. They are extremely comfortable and the fit is perfect. I bought this shoe in both colors. Thank you again, Zappos.

I like these shoes alot. At first I didn\'t think I would like the ankle wrap around strap, usually I get a t-strap style but I found that after wearing them a while, they provide more support to the ankle cup. the straps keep the foot in place instead of sliding all around in the shoe. Plus those self- buckeling buckles are a MIRACLE since I teach ballroom dancing I\'m always switching shoes and that is a real timesaver. The very best part of this shoe is the wider-than-normal heel. It is a most stable feeling, the wider heel. It\'s also a bit lower, 1.5 inch, but they feel and look very good on. Anyone who has shaky ankles or tore ligaments in the ankles will appreciate these shoes. The shoe leather is a nice quality. I may have to order these in a champagne colour as well. Also, if you look at the various shoe views, if you look at the one where you are looking at the back of the shoe/heel, some shoes have misaligned heels. the heel is crooked, not centered, making for a wobbly dance experience. Not these shoes! they are very well made. I much prefer the Bloch brand over the Capezio ballroom shoes. Nice job zappos for getting them into their stock!

The service was great; I got the shoes on time, and in good shape. The shoes are absolutely beautiful, comfortable, flexible, weightless and even though I have wide feet the fitting is perfect.

A style and comfort that I was looking for in a black, dress sandal. It looked so nice on my foot but the front sole is too narrow and a couple of my toes hang over a bit and if I go a 1/2 size bigger the shoe will be too long looking and may be too lose fitting. Was very disappointed that I had to return them due to that issue.

These are great for Salsa Dancing - I have been salsa dancing for over 2 years, and I have been looking for some good dance shoes. I was so excited to see that Zappos was now carrying Bloch dressy dance shoes. I ordered them right away and WOW! They are awesome. I wore them to class and they were so comfortable - no blisters, no pinching, pure comfort. I also got several compliments about how nice they look. I am sold on these shoes for Latin dancing.

Very comfortable - This shoe is the most comfortable heel I've ever worn. After 4 straight hours of teaching salsa my feet started to hurt, but usually they hurt after 2! I usually wear a wide shoe, but this fit really well.

This is a comfortable dance shoe made very well and very good support. I purchased Danskin in the past and these seem to be better made.

Well Made Dance Shoes - If you like quality, this is the one for you. Sturdy, supportive and flexible where needed. I love the buckles, it's worry-free since it's self-locking. It will not snag in the inner seam hemming of your pants.
