Bloch loved watching ballet and visited many dance studios. At one such studio, he noticed a young dancer who was having trouble staying on pointe. Bloch promised he would make her a better pair of shoes, and so he did. After that, Bloch´s reputation for making good dance shoes spread rapidly.
At Bloch, the respect the company has for its clients' art is infinite. Contributing to a dancer's artistry, in even the slightest way is the ultimate Bloch goal. Admittedly jealous of their clients' artistic ability, Bloch is proud to contribute confidence and beauty through the best dance footwear in the world.

I ordered a 7 and wear a 6½ typically. The 7 was too big. I am sending them back now. They are extremely light, but not exactly what I want.

Bloch Fusion Sneaker is ideal for a person who is not dependent on strong arch support, loves a feather weight sneaker with great styling (see pictures with multiple views). Look at sole of shoe and you will see an X of sewn in grograin ribbon in the arch area. This sewn in ribbon continues over each side of the top of the shoe forming loops where an elasticized lace threads through. Shoe is an elasticized slip[ on, no open top with tongue. You can make adjustments for width over the ball of the foot up to the arch with this elasticized lace by tightening the lace if you have a narrow foot. By tightening the lace, you do not increase arch support substantially because the shoe has a mesh arch. Fabrication is mesh for entire shoe, feels like a glove on your foot. For those who have wide feet (more than a B width) or an extremely high arch, remember this is a slip on and the toe box is narrow, as shoe tapers at toe making a very flattering shoe. Make allowances for this in choosing sizes. Shoe runs short. For a narrow foot, I recommend going up half size. For B widths or wider, or high arch try a full size adjustment. Sole of shoe has medium protection for slipping, would not describe it as nonskid sole. As always, Zappos has excellent staff, very accommodating with free ship both ways - no restocking fee. Thanks Zappos!

Excellent belly dance shoe. I love these shoes. I bought them for belly dance. I can no longer dance barefoot and these are great for Tribal Fusion, Belly dance Hip/Hop Fusion and almost anything that you can wear a more casual shoe with or if you need a shoe for classes/practice. I am looking for something similar to these that are more dressy and that I can glam up to wear during performances. I can't say enough positive things about this shoe.

I got these shoes because I've been wearing Vibram Fivefingers to run in, and the more I get used to the "barefoot" feel, the more I can't deal with rigid-soled shoes. I gave these a try, and I really like them. They conform to my feet while absorbing shock well. I actually haven't used these to dance, but they're comfortable for all-day wearing. They weigh very little and are well-ventilated. One small thing: the way they tie is not very functional. Luckily, the pair I got fit my feet fine except for a little looseness around the opening/ankle. I threaded the laces through the pull-loop in the back and then tied them in front in order to secure them a little better.
I'd also recommend: Vibram Fivefingers (hope Zappos will start carrying them soon!), Capezio

This is a comfortable, stretchy shoe. I wear it for karate -- I have plantar fasciitis and can't go barefoot. It doesn't have tremendous arch support, but there is lots of cushioning in the heel and forefoot. I removed the toggle and elastic laces immediately, since they got in the way and were painful when sitting on floor. The shoe doesn't need them. It is very snug and stays put without the laces. I have a hard to fit foot -- narrow in the heel and flat and wide in front, but this shoe is snug all around.
