Bloch loved watching ballet and visited many dance studios. At one such studio, he noticed a young dancer who was having trouble staying on pointe. Bloch promised he would make her a better pair of shoes, and so he did. After that, Bloch´s reputation for making good dance shoes spread rapidly.
At Bloch, the respect the company has for its clients' art is infinite. Contributing to a dancer's artistry, in even the slightest way is the ultimate Bloch goal. Admittedly jealous of their clients' artistic ability, Bloch is proud to contribute confidence and beauty through the best dance footwear in the world.

These flats are great, I just got them in the mail today and they fit beautifully (if you go a whole size up). I usually wear a 7.5 in shoes and got the 38.5 (if you go to the Bloch website it actually says that 38.5=7.5, that is why I said true to size) and they fit great. they are really comfortable. They fit my super narrow heel and flat as a pancake forefoot. I gave them 4 stars because they are a little more shiny than I would like and I think the toe area could be a little cuter, but for the fit and comfort it totally worth it. I would highly recommend these (maybe not if you have a wider foot, try the Alia, which I also have but the heel is huge on me, but I still love them).

I wear a 7.5 or an 8, and my feet are a bit wide. I'm also rather particular about comfort, but I saw these and thought they were really cute, so I went for it. I bought them in a 38, as I normally have really good luck with Euro sizing. I'm sort of regretting that decision. First off, while they felt fine at first, an hour into wear them, my feet were throbbing because the shoes were too small. It was too late to return them, so I dropped them off at the cobbler, who put them on a stretching machine for about a week. They're a lot bigger now, but I still feel like my big toes is somewhat uncomfortably digging into the top of the shoe. Also, they have zero arch support. There isn't enough room in them for insoles, which I originally thought could have helped alleviate some of the comfort issues. I think these shoes are very attractive looking, and fine for walking around the office, but I can't imagine wearing them outside on hard concrete. I will probably have to change back into my clunky, ugly walking shoes if I want to leave the building for lunch. I sort of wish I could return them, but it's way too late for that, so I guess they'll live in my office and serve as an alternative to whatever I walk to work in.

These are the only flats that have ever worked for my narrow feet. They would probably work on other widths too due to the functionality of the bow and the stretch of the leather. They are also the only shoes that I have ever gotten more compliments on from males than females. I guess because they are super feminine, dainty, and classic. I wear them every day with jeans or dressed up too when I know that I will not last in heels.

It took me two tries to finally get my hands on these gorgeous shoes - the first time I searched, they were out of stock in my size. The second time, I received an e-mail from Zappos that my size was back in stock, but I dilly-dallied too long and someone else snapped them up. The third time was the the charm, and I am so glad that I finally got these shoes. They are simple, elegant, chic and very Parisian - think Audrey Hepburn, Left Bank, and timeless style. I am so glad that I saved up my money to buy one good pair of ballet flats - the quality of these shoes is excellent and truly worth the money I spent. One word of caution: Bloch ballet flats tend to run small (I wear a size 11 and the size 12, which I bought, fits snugly), but since these shoes are made of leather, give them a chance to stretch and mold to your feet. I bought another style of Bloch flats last year and considered sending them back since they felt tight. However, after wearing them for a week, they really did stretch and felt much more comfortable. I was also very pleased with Zappos customer service and quick shipping. I will definitely be a repeat customer here!

Lovely leather and construction -- but I agree with the other reviewers if not even more-so. I ordered a full size larger and had to return them for 1.5 sizes larger. Order up and enjoy!
