Not for Zumba - I was looking for a shoe to wear to Zumba classes, but did not look carefully at the tread of this shoe. It doesn't have the smooth surface and pivot circle. It is extremely comfortable, cute and lightweight, if you want to use it for hip-hop or the other dances listed.

This is the dance shoe that I wish I had when we were wearing Keds. The first class I wore them for was my first ballet in 10 years. They are light, shock absorbing and flexible. Somehow they manage to have great traction, and at the same time turn beautifully. The only thing lacking is wide width. Originally I bought the shoe intending to use full orthotics. They took up too much room. But actually the sneaker give a lot of balance and support and encourages me to work my feet. I can wear the orthotics after class.

I use this shoe for both dancing and for a step-class. I use the shoe almost daily. I love the shoe's durability, flexibility, form fit (support in design), looks. I carry the opinion that one should allow the feet to strengthen themselves with the muscles in the foot more than relying on orthopedic dependent support from the shoes we wear during exercise while the shoe generally supports and is tailored to the way the foot moves naturally. This Bloch Dance shoe does just that. Some marathon runners practice running barefoot. That might sound crazy. Now Nike is trying to please the "barefoot" runners with shoes that are as close the the 'bare' experience as possible while still providing protection while supporting the natural movement of the feet rather than dictating the foot movement with shoe design. Though there are as many theories on shoes as there are theories on most any matter these days, finally when I share my opinion on this Bloch shoe I simply say, my feet are in love with growing stronger and enjoying the dance and step experience more than ever.

These dance shoes are great for hip-hip dancing. I am dancing in Thrill the World NYC. My other Bloch dance shoes that I use for Zumba are too sticky for the hip-hop moves, so I tried these. I love them and I am taking more dance lessons in them. They are great and lightweight! But not so good for Zumba, so I use different shoes for different classes and have lots of fun!

I got these shoes in white for a dance performance. I\'ve only worn them on stage which is a marley surface. They work perfectly for turns and are not slippery for other moves. However, I have not tried them on a wood floor. They give a nice toe point. They are lower to the ground than some split sole jazz shoes and I like that. I have an average foot but I think that the shoe is a little narrow in the front and a little tight in the instep as it does not have an actual tongue. They look good on my feet.
Brands I'd also recommend: Bloch, Capezio

About Bloch
Bloch loved watching ballet and visited many dance studios. At one such studio, he noticed a young dancer who was having trouble staying on pointe. Bloch promised he would make her a better pair of shoes, and so he did. After that, Bloch’s reputation for making good dance shoes spread rapidly.
At Bloch, the respect the company has for its clients' art is infinite. Contributing to a dancer's artistry, in even the slightest way is the ultimate Bloch goal. Admittedly jealous of their clients' artistic ability, Bloch is proud to contribute confidence and beauty through the best dance footwear in the world.

Zappos was terrific. My sneakers arrived within 4 days, they were exactly what I wanted and the no fee shipping and return policy is exceptional. Wouldn\'t shop online any other way.

These do run small, I normally wear a size 6 but based on another review and the fact that a 6 wasn\'t available I ordered a 6.5 which turned out to be perfect. These shoes are lightweight and flexible but provide arch support and the soles work well for pivots and spins. I like them a lot.

I bought this specifically for Zumba. It is like night and day from trying to Zumba in an aerobic shoe. I can actually move (dance). It does run narrow. I did size up 1/2 size. This shoe is very light weight and flexible.

I love these dance shoes. They have less cushion than the Boost sneakers. However, they provide good support and protection and still make you still feel like you are dancing barefoot.

I had to mark these shoes as feeling one full size smaller than marked because they didn’t give me a choice for "two" sizes smaller! But that’s just the shape of my foot. Once I found the right size, I was very, very happy. I am going to buy a black pair, too. I was very surprised about how small they run. There is a mesh lining sewn into the top part of the shoe making it impossible to open the shoe up to put your foot in, so you have to slide and work your foot into the shoe. I did get one whole size bigger than my street size shoe because of my high arches and wide feet. I had a hard time slipping my foot into the shoe and once I got it on, it felt extremely tight around the top of my foot like it was cutting off the circulation. I decided I needed to go up another whole size, that’s how tight they were! Zappos sent them overnight which was amazing to me. They said just send back the other shoes within two weeks. I was very happy to hear that. Received my shoes as promised the next day and they fit perfect! They were not too loose like I would expect from a shoe two sizes up from my street shoe size. These shoes are perfect for Zumba. I go to Zumba classes on average four to six times a week. My feet are very comfortable now and the shoes work perfect on wood floors giving just enough traction to keep me from sliding and not too much traction to hurt my knees. Pivoting works great, and I have no problem doing spins. I love how I can feel the floor. Felt a little stiff at first, but broke them in nicely after wearing them to class a few times and around the house. I would recommend buying at least two pairs to try on at home and compare. Zappos makes returns so easy. I just printed out the label and dropped the package off and they took care of it. Others in our Zumba class who have these shoes say one size larger than your street size works for them. I had to go two sizes larger. I also wear them for step aerobics and kickboxing.

I bought these shoes as I am a Zumba fanatic, they are perfect for it as they are lightweight and flexible, which is great for minimal impact on the knees. I would recommend these shoes for any dance class.

This is an excellent shoe for zumba. I tried Capezio and other Bloch shoes but this was the most comfortable. It is light as a feather and fits well. I did have to go up a half size.

I got these shoes for Zumba, after I my hip started to hurt (I'm guessing from turning and twisting in running shoes). They work well for me, there's far less torque on my knees and hips. I'm an 8 1/2, regular width, ordered a 9 and they fit perfectly. I didn't need to break them in. The shoes are remarkably lightweight and breathe well. The problem I most frequently have with shoes is the toe box being too small; I don't have that problem with these. I did feel my foot slide out a few times on the wooden floor during the first minute or two the first time out; I think my brain just needed to adjust to the different shoes. I'm glad I got these; I can't believe I went so long without them. I haven't tried other aerobic dance shoes, so I can't compare these to others, but I'm pretty happy. Also, I noticed my feet don't look as dorky dancing in these shoes as in running shoes, as for the rest of me, uh, well...nevermind.

I do have a somewhat wide foot, but most sneakers fit me. This one did not because the 'tongue' of the sneaker is a stretchy fabric that is sewn to the sides of the shoe and cannot be pulled up to allow your foot to slip inside. It might work on narrow or average size feet, but it did not work for me, and I ordered a full size larger than usual. I have another pair of Bloch sneakers that fit just fine, but they have a normal tongue.

Great shoes for Zumba! I tried 4 pairs from Zappos and these are the best. The other 3 are just like regular bulky sneakers (Nike Musique IV, VI and Ryka Studio D). My knees don't hurt any more. You do need to order half size up.

I use these shoes for Zumba and absolutely love them! They are extremely lightweight and fit like a glove. Compared to my cross trainers, I felt so light on my feet and like I could have done another hour of Zumba. I did have to order one and one-half size larger.

I am glad that I listened to the comments regarding fit. These run very very small, a full size small in my case. I bought these to help relieve some extreme knee pain and swelling issues. Complete success! The shoe is excellent for the pivots and turns of Zumba. However, I find them to be almost too slippery and sometimes I'm sliding too much.

I have worn dance shoes, ballet, ballroom, etc. and am very familiar with dance shoes. They tend to fit snug and more often than not run a 1/2 size smaller. I wear 6 1/2 dance shoes, but this Bloch model is a full size smaller. I tried the 6 1/2, 7, and finally 7 1/2. The sock insert of the shoe makes it much smaller. It's well constructed, flexible and offer light arch support, more for indoor than out. If you have not worn dance sneakers before, you might find it insubstantial. Haven't worn it in a dance class yet, can't wait to try! Bloch should label their sizes more accurately, would save a lot of trouble for everyone. Zappos was great though, made all the exchanges quickly and efficiently!

I purchased these shoes for Zumba class and they are very comfortable and very good for dancing and pivoting, etc. However, in my Zumba class we do a lot of squats and I find that these shoes don't have enough traction for that particular exercise. These shoes do run very small, I normally wear a 7.5 in sneakers and I had to get these shoes in 8.5. These shoes look nice on the feet without the funny looking high arch some other dance shoes have.
