The Best Work Shoe. I must say that this is the best work shoe that I've ever owned. As a delivery room nurse, you need a waterproof shoe that is easy to clean. This shoe is practical and most of all, very comfortable.

Perfect! These clogs have the greatest comfort! Their plastic look is great in the rain or snow, and they start plenty of conversations. I highly recommend these clogs! Plus, they're great for casual or professional. My favorite pair of shoes, by far.

clogs forever CLOGS I am a travel writer and need to exist in any climate, weather and social circumstance with ONE pair of shoes. I finally found the perfect pair for my feet (but not high class social situations). Pro: Why do I like them? P1. Perfect fit. Technically they are probably too big, but I don't care what any podiatrist might say. I know what *feels* good. P2. They are funny shoes. I feel like a clown wearing them (see con!) P3. They are 100% waterproof (but see con). P4. My feet breathe. May people ask me 'Aren't your feet hot?' (I am in Bangkok). Quite the opposite. My feet are cool - perhaps one size 'too big' helps. P5. They are very comfortable. In any other pair of shoes, including other Birks, I feel like a prisoner. P6. They start conversations with German travelers I meet in S.E. Asia and beyond. P7. Although supposedly one is supposed to wear ankle supporting boots or athletic shoes while hiking I walk mountain paths in mine, and have never a problem as long as the incline is not too steep. P8. The insoles are replaceable when they wear out. P9. The insoles are dryable when they get wet (and they do) P10. I can wear them with or without socks. P11. The grip on the soles is very good. After about a year though they are nothing special. Con: Why do I not like them? C1. My pair are green - not exactly standard male attire. Singapore does not sock conservative colours like dark brown. C2. Because they are healthy natural shows they cast me as a hippie. C3. Because they look like work shoes and have no status appeal they do not appeal to females looking for a breadwinner. C4. The insoles wore out in less than a year. Maybe this is normal. In Singapore, which is probably where I will get my next pair, insoles cost over 20% of the price of the clogs they fit. C5. They are waterproof only on the bottom. They are not boots and they are not intended for walking in swamps. If it is pouring rain your feet will get very wet. C6. They are expensive (but I have worn one pair of shoes for over two years - so per day they are not expensive). C7. Frequently I get stones in them. I presume this is because they are open shoes. C8. They are very hard to find in Asia outside of metropolises such as Singapore and Hong Kong. C9. They are very expensive for a plastic pair of shoes. It is very frustrating to see gardening clogs in Thai superstores for a fraction of the cost of these - from China I believe. But they are too narrow and the plastic is definitely softer. I know because I tried them on. I have also heard of knock-offs being sold in Australia for AUS$20 . But who knows how good they are for durability and comfort? Conclusion: Curiously I have bought and worn other Birks and been very unhappy with them - I felt like my feet were being tortured. I am not willing to 'wear in' any shoes. They must be immediately comfortable and stay that way. These clogs are very different. I can only suggest that anyone considering buying them might want to try a size bigger than usual. I have a high instep, narrow heel and wide at the toes. If you are somebody who doesn’t care what people think, if you insist on comfort, and if like me you got tired of stubbing your toes on third world sidewalks - these shoes are a godsend.

Nice for Rain!! I bought this shoe to have something to wear in the rain or wet weather. Maybe I could have bought something less expensive, but this shoe provides real foot comfort and is perfect to wear outside on bad days, or kick on when you run to the grocery store. I'm very happy with them.

About Birki's
The days when we are truly free of everything that occupies us in our daily lives are surely the most enjoyable times of year: vacations, long weekends and holidays. We can sit back and relax, refuel, and do what we really like to do, whether we're at home or at a holiday destination. Even better if we can do this at a location that's sunny and warm, where we can hear the ocean surf while waves are lapping onto the beach, where we can feel good. Everything is just the way we've always wanted it. Sharing all of the above with our children or good friends who share our wavelength has got to be the ultimate in having a truly good time!
And what is more obvious than choosing the right shoes for these special moments? Maybe you don't generally spend a lot of thought on the matter of footwear. This really should be considered not only because we are constantly accompanied by our shoes, but also because healthy feet demand agreeable comfort - enough space for free movement. This way your vacation can start the moment you buy your shoes, because Birki's sandals and clogs are the perfect companions for spending your relaxing spare time, no matter where and how one wants to spend this time.
Birki's collection is best characterized by these keywords: Wellness - Comfort - Kids. All models come with anatomically-molded footbeds, some styles made of Alpro®-Foam or Alpro®-Cell, some made of cork-latex. They are always in the trendy colors of the current season and always in line with the sophisticated wishes of Birki's big and small customers.
The areas of application of Birki's clogs and sandals are endless. Decide for yourself when, where, and how to wear your Birki's - the sky's the limit for your imagination!

culinaryschool - I am in culinary school, and needed professional shoes for a working enviroment. Because you need to wear socks, the white athletic type, I suggest getting a size or (2) bigger. They will mold to your feet anyway. I normally wear a 37 when buying sandals or clogs, but with the socks and being on my feet sometimes 12 hours in a hot kitchen, I opted for the 39. Great shoe, get them bigger, your back, knees, and feet will thank you!

I have flat foot so I have to buy shoes based on comfort rather than looks, but when I saw these on the internet I thought they looked cute. When I received them I was very disappointed in that they looked like the Dutch shoes. However, I must point out that they did feel comfortable although, very huge for my size. I wear a size 8 and when I tried these on they felt like a 9 1/2. Now Birkenstock shoes are suppose to feel roomier but I would have to wear 3 socks on my feet just to have them not fall of my feet. If your looking for comfort, these are the shoes for you but buy them a size smaller.

Culinary Pros *Get These* I've been in the foodservice bis 20+ years. I've laughed at the NEW kids with the clogs on. I've suffered back pain, slipped on the usual floor crap, I've worn out 10 pairs of the usual shoes in one year, never mind stinkfoot. Three words describe the Birki pros: comfort, durabilaty, did I say comfort? I beat the heck out of mine on a daily basis, then wipe them off and start the next day. Yes, I do like them. Sizing is a little large, you do not want a snug fit, you might need to kick them off.

Didn't finish the shift - Well these are the best contender to my old sling-back Burkies, but they don't give as much as leather so in about 6 hrs, my couple of hammer toes wouldn't let me wear then another minute. So, they will be great around the house, garden, maybe shopping, but not for a 12 hr shift...

Chef - I have been wearing my Birkies for around 15 months for 6 days a week, 10 hours a day. I have worn boots, shoes and I find these are just THE most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. My feet are never sore, like they used to be. I endorse these shoess 100% and push for all my apprentises to buy them. I never slip, never slide, and can hose them off when they get dirty. You can't get better shoes. Race down and buy them now!

There is nothing better than the Birkinstock Professional clog when it comes to working in a kitchen. 14 hour days without sore feet or legs and at the end of the shift you can send the shoes through the dish machine. Average life of these shoes for me is 2 years. This is pair number four for me, and I will never switch as long as they keep making them.

I wear my Birkenstock Professional Clogs everyday to work at my restaurant. I am a chef and I am always looking for a comfortable shoe to wear. Now that I have tried the Birkenstock Professional Clog, my search for a comfortable work shoe is over. I recommend this shoe to anyone in the food service industry in need of a comfortable shoe that supports your arch and does not slide.

After reading all the reviews I finally bought a pair. I'm and professional Chef and I’m on my feet longer that I care to admit. True, buy one full size smaller; but I have to say that these clogs are very wide. I have the clog shuffle thing down but still find that my feet swim in these. They would be great if they had more cushioning. I own another pair of pro-style clogs (not Birkenstocks) and they are heads above these for comfort. They will be my back-up shoes in the kitchen.

Unfortunately, I had to return the clogs, as they were about one size too large. I was a bit surprised, as in the past my shoe size has not varied. The only reason I gave the comfort and overall appearance 3 stars was simply because they were too big. However, I am certain had I ordered the right size my evaluation would be different. I am a chef, so they would work perfectly in a professional kitchen.

These shoes are very comfortable but they definitely run a full size bigger. I didn’t believe other reviews and ordered my regular size, then ordered one size smaller, which still seemed a little loose on me, so I ordered two sizes smaller. While the shoe that was two sizes smaller fit okay, I could definitely tell they were not right for me because (if you know Birkenstocks) the insert is formed to fit your instep and toes, and the insert was definitely not lining up for me. I sent the two others back and settled on the shoe that is one size smaller and have been happy ever since. Also, I was hoping to wear these shoes without socks, but have found they fit better and are more comfortable with socks. Keep in mind that these are not running shoes; they are for standing in the kitchen or doing other things that are not going to require sprinting around. I ordered the blue ones and some friends made fun and called them Smurf shoes. I took it as a compliment.

The shoes look very comfortable and easy to break in...they are a full size bigger than I expected, but for standing they are great, walking around constantly is another matter until the clog is mastered.

Don't waste your money! I bought a pair of Birkenstocks after hearing co workers rave about them. I was very dissappointed that they never felt comfortable, my arches constantly ached, and my feet became very painful and sore. The shoes failed in less than 4 months, and split to the center cork. I took them back to the reputable Birkenstock Dealer where I had purchased them, they then in turn sent the shoes back to the factory, I expected to at least get either a new pair of shoes of my choice from the line or at least get some kind of reimbursement, but their customer service was horrible, even though I had not abused the shoes, and had only worn them for my work as a nurse. I will never again waste my money on anything from Birkenstock, and would recommend that others do the same. Very Very Poor customer service!!!!!!
