Birkenstock is based on the simple principles of health and wellness, quality workmanship and materials, and a respect for the environment. Did you know that Birkenstock created the original contoured footbed that supports and shapes to your foot when walking? And it's made of 100% natural and renewable cork. You can feel good that you are supporting your feet and the environment at the same time. You could call it sustainable comfort.
Birkenstock footwear is designed and sized to provide a roomy fit allowing your toes and feet to wiggle and be free. This sometimes takes a bit of getting used to. Also, most Birkenstock styles come in two widths: narrow and regular, so you can really find the best possible fit for your feet. For the most natural fit, your feet should rest comfortably inside the footbed and there should be about ¼” between your toes and the end of the footbed.
No other part of your body is subject to as much stress and strain as your feet and that is why it is so important to take care of them. With features like a contoured cork footbed, a deep heel cup, and a roomy toe box, Birkenstock clogs and sandals provide more than simply cushioning. Birkenstock footwear provides the perfect balance of firm support and shock resistance allowing your feet and body to be naturally supported.

This is my dream come true. I always wanted Birk footbeds for my boots. I cannot fit the plastic part in with the cork part but the cork part is what really helps hold your arch up and has a deep heel cup. They are awesome for high arches and people whose feet only feel heavenly in a Birkenstock but that want to wear other style shoes!

The raised area that goes underneath your toes is not as hard as those found in a Birkenstock shoe. These didn't work for me sadly. I thought I had found the answer to the pain under my toes by using a Birk insole. The quest continues!

I wear 40 in the Boston clog and 39 in the Mayari and sandals. Based on another review, I went with the 40, which was too big. At first glance it fit my foot, and fit inside my shoe, but the placement of the arch was too far forward and so it just felt awkward and not supportive. So don't necessarily size up; I would recommend getting a couple different sizes so you can really figure out which one is most comfortable. Also, I was worried because I always buy narrow; in Birkenstock and these were medium but they fit fine in my Brooks Addiction tennis shoes (size 8.5) and Mountrek Lisa boots (size 8; excellent walking boots for troubled heels and arches!).
I'd also recommend: Brooks, Mountrek winter boots, and Birkenstock are the only shoes I wear!

I have flat feet and these inserts are great for preventing pain when on your feet all day. I can fit them in my boots, sneakers, but not really any smaller shoes. Definitely would recommend these!
