Wow...have tried a lot of minimalist runners but this one takes the cake! First of all the leather (which at first I was reluctant) feels like nothing else...a glove is no exaggeration. The heat index I learned is only 12% above mesh so the trade-off is minimal in relation to the fit you get. You can feel the engineering that has gone into the last development, too. I'm a neutral runner so this is a sweet spot for me. If I was a heavy pronator...no way and since it is a minimalist design, orthotics are out. Good arch support helped by the "cage" of poly that is part of the outsole...really does help support the arch. Have been using the Biom C for training (this has a bit more outsole to it) and the Biom A for race day. Because the out/mid soles are polyurethane instead of EVA foam, the impact to weight ratio is excellent as is the wear index for poly. These will not wear out as fast as traditional foam mid-sole runners/trainers! Comparing the two Biom A and C, there are differences too in the weight (heavier on C), length between arches is longer on A than C presumably because A is for a faster pace runners. All around best minimalist shoe I have tried.
Brands I'd also recommend: Nike, Saucony, Brooks, Newton

About Biom Natural Motion by ECCO
All BIOM shoes are built on an anatomical last to provide a better fit and more natural flexion. As their aim is natural movement, they do not follow the design standards of overprotection, excessive cushioning, or motion control.
Professor Dr. Bruggemann, a leading scientist in running biomechanics, Torbjorn Sindballe, world-class triathlon pro-athlete, and ECCO have all worked in conjunction to make the BIOM Project what it has become today.
The best thing about BIOM products is that whether you’re a walker, the occasional runner, the fitness runner, or the serious runner, they have a shoe to fit your needs.
