I've never paid more than $50 for a watch in my life, but after years of Swatches and Timexes, I finally decided to buy a quality watch. I had never heard of the Bertucci brand before, but the A-2S got a great writeup in Wired Magazine, so I decided to give it a try. After a week of wearing it, I can truly say I'm in love. The stainless steel bezel is chunk and substantial, yet doesn't feel heavy on my wrist. The numbers on the dial are large and legible, and the thick hands glow in the dark. I purposely got this one because it doesn't have a date feature. If you must have one, it's available on other Bertucci models. The stem is positioned 45 degrees to the lower right, so it doesn't dig into your wrist. Great design feature. As for the nylon wristband? Meh. It goes underneath the underside of the bezel, keeping sweat and oils away from it; good idea. I've got skinny wrists, so I have to put the wristband buckle in the very last hole and tuck the end underneath. If I ever replace the band, it'll be with a leather one. In all, a great watch for the money. At the price, even though it's made for rough duty, I won't be using it for that.

I own one other Bertucci and am familiar with their high quality. The nylon band on the Ventara puts up with the sweat associated with the summer better than a leather band. I enjoy its classic looks and the offset stem is interesting.

About Bertucci
With each watch created, MH Bertucci studies the ways in which it will be worn and used. If traditional crown placement impedes wrist motion, they move it. If standard straps and buckles break in demanding situations, they build long-lasting nylon and leather straps and a more durable buckle and keeper. If normal crystals scratch and crack too easily, they create a U.S. patented case with a recessed, mineral glass crystal.
In the end, each MH Bertucci watch is designed, engineered and purpose-built to survive the rigors of daily use. Simply put, watches from MH Bertucci perform like no other field watch because they´re built like no other field watch.
