First of all, let me say that I just love the look of these shoes, and even though the toe box seems fairly long, once they are on they are super comfortable, but after wearing them around the house yesterday to get used to them, I noticed that my wood floors were all scraped up from the nails in the heels and toe of the sole. I just put them on without noticing the nails, but my husband had a fit when he noticed what they had done to our floor. If I didn't like the way they feel -- super comfortable right out of the box -- and if I didn't need them for a trip I plan on taking next week, I would be returning them for sure...but instead I plan on taking them to a local shoe repair shop to see if something can do something about this problem. I do hope so, because I think they will be perfect for all-day wear while sightseeing -- a whole lot nicer-looking than sneakers!

These are more pointed in the toe than they appear. I received mine yesterday. The fit is right on, however there was some of the stitching missing on the sole of the instep. I might take it to my cobbler and ask him if it would effect the wear. Nice looking and very different. This style is a classic on vacation!
Brands I'd also recommend: Frye, Old Gringo, Lucchese
