My right shoe was damaged. The leather was worn/wrinkly and did not stand up right (the left was in perfect condition). I exchanged them for a different brand/style. I was not very impressed overall with the boots. I am sure it was an accident that one boot was damaged and I did not let this affect my judgement of them.

I wonder if I got a defective pair? Mine smell amazing, look great, but are extremely long. I am a true 9½ and when I put them on there is a full thumb's distance between my big toe and the end of the shoe. They otherwise seem to fit well and are very nice looking. I am going to order another 9½ and a 9 to see if it is the shoe design or if these were somehow mismarked. Also, the toe does curl up weirdly and looks sort of rumpled, for lack of a better word. Something is not quite right with these.

Way too small. It's like reverse vanity sizing for hipsters. Nearly impossible for me to get my foot inside. Extra narrow.

I was really excited when I ordered the boot, but really disappointed when I received them. 1)they're way too distressed looking. If you want a boot that looks rained on, dragged across concrete and dried out in the desert sun, this is the look for you. That said, 2) the actual color is faint compared to the color in the pic. 3) The fit is odd- the angle of the footbed is such that your toes will slide forward. So even though my 9.5 felt true to size (with sox), the angle of my foot would have required an insole to stop the sliding. 4) I love the profile of the boot. And the 'slouch' look is perfect with skinny jeans/leggings. (5 stars for style). But unfortunately must return them for the other reasons.

Nice shoe and comfortable to walk in right from the box. However, the back pull off tab ripped off after wearing the shoe ten times.

Love these boots they fit like a glove. This is the 4th pair of Bed Stu boots I've purchased. Can't go wrong with the style or colors.

This is a wonderful high quality leather bag with very cool styling. The oxblood color and slightly distressed look is attractive and somewhat unique. I wish the bag were slightly bigger but it's big enough for the essentials like wallet, phone, sunglasses, keys, etc and the two outside pockets provide easy access. And maybe the size is all for the better in helping me enforce a discipline of not carrying around so much crap that I really don't need to carry around! Anyway this was a total impulse buy because I really didn't "need" another bag much less one that costs this much but I have absolutely no buyer's remorse. I love this bag!

Love these boots! Found these and instantly loved the pics on-line, ordered immediately. These boots look and smell awesome. Leather smell before I even opened the box. The distressed finish has a great well worn lived in look straight out of the box. They fit great, true to size, and comfy to wear. Absolutely love them!

Love this bag. I ordered it to go with my bed stu boots and it was a perfect match. I absolutely love Zappos, love how fast your order arrives, and everyone goes over and beyond to make sure you're satisfied.

I don't know what these people are talking about. These shoes are sized properly. I followed the advice I read and ordered a half-size smaller than normal. Guess what -- it fit like it was a half-size too small. Great shoe, though! So comfortable!

I adore these half boots. I typically wear a size 6, but I needed a 6.5 in this brand. The leather is amazing and so is the craftsmanship. The are pricey, but it shows in the quality. This was my first Bed Stu purchase and I can see myself owning more shoes from this brand.

Awesome looking Boots. Clint Eastwood's Spaghetti Westerns and any Tarantino movie wrapped up in a beat up pair of boots. The look is pure gasoline.

I've been sitting with these for a week because they are not a great fit on my foot. The toe box is extremely narrow as other reviewers have stated, which I thought would be a good fit for me since my feet are very narrow. However, it is a very unusual fit with the rest of the shoe a normal width...that narrow toe box makes it hard to tell if the shoe is too small...or just narrow at the toe! I finally decided the leather is such a high quality, it will soften and stretch out in the toe. The length is perfect. I am a 6.5 bordering on a 7, so I went with the 6.5. I think the 7 would be too long for me and my heel would end up slipping. Aesthetically this shoe is absolutely beautiful! I love the masculine shoe that is clearly a feminine shape and style. I've never owned a Bed Stu shoe, but I will definitely be purchasing more. It's a work of art.

Bought these a couple of days ago, I had to return them, they were just too big. I have narrow feet and felt the fit is for a narrow foot. I usually wear a 9 but ordered and 8 1/2 after reading the reviews. Wrong! They were a full size bigger. So, I am going to reorder an 8. They looked adorable on, I have thin calves, so had them cinched tight... and they seemed to stay in place. If I want them to slouch, I would definitely loosen the ties. Love the cream color, could be worn right into summer. Zappos is the best, as always had them at my door lightning fast!

Amazing boots! Very smart and dapper with jeans and a nice blazer. I thought that I would write a review as I'm going to try out another style from BedStu as I appreciate these boots.

I am a total boot fanatic. I love Frye, Freebird, and Docs but Bed Stu is my new favorite! These harness boots are cute and sexy and are as good as Frye boots (which for me is saying a lot)! The leather is thick and high quality and so worth the price, in my opinion. They seem to be sturdy and well-crafted as well, and I imagine having them in my boot "collection" for years to come! I found them to be "pretty much" true to size. I am either a 7.5 or 8 in boots, depending on how they fit, but I went with a 7.5 in these (because of the square toe, the long-looking toe box as well as other reviews) and they fit great- 8s might've given me more wiggle room but these are very comfy and i can still wiggle my toes in them. So if you're like me and hesitate between two sizes, get the smaller one. If you are always-always an 8, stick with that. I had no trouble getting them on the first time and they felt very comfortable. The heel does slip a little, but that is the case with most pull-on boots for the first couple of wears, then they mold to your feet and should be fine. One more thing: I got the tan greenland color and they were definitely not tan, but dark brown. I had read this in other reviews and google-imaged this boot. I saw there was a huge color discrepancy with the Opals (because of the unique quality of leather, I think) within this color especially. They vary from light brown/camel to very dark brown (mine are very dark brown). I'd have thought they sent me the wrong color if I hadn't researched the boot and seen the wide variation of color in "tan greenland." The thing was, I liked the way they looked in dark brown too so I didn't mind taking that chance with the color- and I ended up loving mine! But they are darker than even I had anticipated! They are oiled leather and it seems as though they may lighten in color gradually - but if you're counting on the camel color, you may have to exchange them for a different pair to get the exact color you like. Every pair of these Opal boots is different (from what i saw on the web) which is great! But hard ordering online. Luckily Zappos is awesome at accommodating us shoe lovers! If you like these online, wait until you see them in person, you'll be happy with them for sure. Color aside, the quality is just incredible!

These are the coolest looking shoes. They are a bit odd fitting and I think I'm going to deal with it just to wear them. The arch support hits early, just off the heel. I ordered an 8 and there is 1 1/2 inches of deep space past my toes and the leather of the shoes bumps against the nail of my big toe. Okay, now that just sounds weird but I have normal feet. Room only for a thin sock. The bottom of the shoe is very slick and needs roughing up. I need to really wear them but we are buried in cold and snow and haven't worn anything but wool socks and boots.

Great shoe, however a couple of things... Bed Stu has a typical, romantic company story about the hand craftsmanship of their shoes in which you imagine an artisan handcrafting them... Yet the sticker that says "Made in China" on is suggests something else. Don't get me wrong, I love these shoes but come on.. I would NOT wear them if there was a lot of moisture outside. These are great chukkas for a dry day and they really do look good. The color is a little different than advertised, but still very good looking. Also, I had to send back my first pair and order a full size larger than I normally do, so they definitely run small.

Great bag, and there is a snap under the buckle! So you don't have to actually unbuckle every time you want in.

Full disclosure: I ordered these exact boots from another site about a year ago. (they were not on Zappos at the time otherwise I would have ordered them here-love you Zappos!;) Unfortunately they were ridiculously too big, and the leather and distressing was totally different on each boot to the point that they didn't even look like a matching set, so back they went. Well I decided to try again and this time it's a win. I am between an 8 and and 8.5, I decided to get the 7.5 and they fit perfectly. I am 5'7 and they hit just under my knee. I have skinny calves and they are snug and don't slouch down unless I want them to. I got the Rustic Tan color-they are very distressed and I have a feeling they might vary from pair to pair, which would explain why I got a weird batch last time. I was worried they might feel too beat up but I think they are beautiful. Mine look exactly like the pictures. I love them this time around.

Right. So I've had these shoes for just over a year and while they still feel great and, for the most part, look great...they're falling apart. The crepe sole of the shoe is pretty much worn through, the sole on the heel is coming detached, the inner lining was torn up after one weekend of use and now a year later is just...rags. The final blaaaaaaaah came when the stitching that literally holds the heel box of the shoe together just burst. I'll admit this is a super comfortable and great looking shoe, but two seasons of use shouldn't leave it in pieces.
