True to size - This was exactly what I was looking for. Not too bulky, good grip, warm, and do not have to lace-up [side zipper]. But better yet...the shipping and return shipping thru Zappos is excellent. Love Zappos and would not deal with anyone else for service. Quick delivery. Easy return. A Serious Work Boot - Bought this for my sig other, thinking it would be a good Minnesota replacement for his winter tennies. It was a little too much boot for him--serious work boot--for a construction worker maybe, who has to spend 8 hours a day outside in the elements. But the fit was great-- with all the inside sole adjustments available, it accommodated his special insoles and the best part is the zip. Lace it up to where you want it to fit and never have to unlace again...just use the side zip. Just a little too much boot for running errands.

Pretty comfortable right out of the box, although the substantial upper needs a little breaking. They seem sturdy so far. The tread is a little too blocky for my liking, and it takes some getting used to. The side-entry zipper is a nice feature, but they are a little hard to get off and on if they are laced tightly. Overall, a solid purchase, and unbeatable in this price range. Bates boots have worn very well for me in the past, so I’m expecting these to be pretty durable.

These were not bought for tactical use. I use them for everyday casual wear and light work. They are very comfortable and the side zip allows you to tie them once for comfort and then use the zipper without having to worry about the lacing. I was not impressed by the adjustable heel cup. The shoe is very comfortable, but the difference in feel between the adjustments was minimal. I'm in a hot climate and the shoes do not seem overly insulated that they present a problem in our weather. Overall, a very good boot.

I got this pair intended for work. Work as an EMT requires long hour and will have to be on my feet from time to time. The ICS technology is a big plus; I have no problem running in it, feel very comfortable for hours. High quality.

They took a while to break in, but once broken in they where great. I walk a lot for work so the soles wore out in about 9 months, then they started to really come apart. But they still feel good.

My now 13-year-old son has high arches and over-pronates, so it's difficult but critical to find the right shoes. He has skinny ankles & high arches. He needs maximum motion control & support. He used to stumble in his shoes when he ran -- even when they were tied. I bought these about 2-1/2 years ago. He doesn't wear anything else. They have all these doo-hickeys to customize the fit. We can double-knot them, & he can use the zipper to take them off & on. Most impressively, they have stabilized his gait way beyond expectations.

I have been very pleased with this shoe so far, they are very comfortable...even with my orthotics. They are easy on and off with the side zip. I wear them on the range and work in them, I haven't had them but a few months and they are showing some wear, my concern is will they hold up (I really work them)...time will tell.
