EMT-Paramedic Boots - The look and fit of the boot was pleasantly surprising. I have a 4-E wide foot and it is very difficult to get a good fit. These boots were perfect in size and appearance. Thank you!
Brands I'd also recommend: Any shoes for public safety and assistance work.

Best Boots I Have Ever Owned - I love these boots! I bought them for when I ride my Harley, once we arrive at any destination these boots are so light you can walk all day and your feet won't hurt. As they break in it gets better and they look cooler...IMO Don't think twice...Buy them!

Zappos does it again. I have ordered 3 different pairs of Harley boots from Zappos since 2004. This time I decided to try Bates Tac Support Side Zip. Well, needless to say, I ordered my boots online on a Friday afternoon. I went out Monday morning to do some errands and upon returning home, there on my front porch was the box from Zappos with my boots. I had to try them on and I am a diehard biker and always go with Harley products, but I have to say, the minute you put your feet into these boots you will love them. I have had them on since since coming home and they feel like I have had them forever. I know as time goes on they will feel even better, I just had to say thanks to Zappos for their usual fantastic service and recommend these boots highly.

A Little Tight - Fortunately, they are breaking in but they were billed as a 9.5 EEEE and maybe they are, barely. Otherwise, they are okay.
Brands I'd also recommend: For wide feet, I have yet to find anything better than New Balance or Dunhams

Love the boots hate the soles. 25 years ago I purchased my first pair of Bates boots and since then I have grown older and my feet bigger. January of '09 I found my second pair of Bates boots and they fit like a glove. Ten months later the soles are falling apart. Since the soles are molded to the boot I don't think they can be resoled. By the way, I have had the old pair resoled for the second time and now my oldest boy wears them when on the motorcycle.

Darn good boot. You can not beat the light weight and the zipper is as smooth as silk on a winter's day. The only drawback is the boot wears out a little faster than others I have had.
Brands I'd also recommend: Blackhawk! Air Tac boot.

I ordered these boots at 9:00 on a Monday night, and they arrived Tuesday morning at 10:00 am. I can't believe how fast the service was and I only picked ground shipping! Thanks Zappos for terrific service. As for the boots, they are very comfortable and affordable! They are a little tight at first, but I wore them around the house for about an hour and they loosened up right away. Also, I'd say buy a half size smaller than what you would normally wear. I recommend to anyone!

I decided to try these boots out after my last pair of army issued boots finally died. And these things are bloody marvelous. They're extraordinarily comfortable and required barely any time to break in. I'm not a big fan of the zippered side, but it doesn't cause any discomfort. I just don't feel it helps with taking them off/on. Now that I'm out of the military, I'm sure I'll stick with Bates for my normal, everyday boot needs.

I usually wear 10.5 or 11M. I ordered 10.5M and they were too big. Zappos shipped 10M next day and they fit well enough to keep, but are still a tad loose in the heel. After about a month of wearing most everyday, the sole is starting to seperate from the upper.

One of the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. From the moment I first put them on. Very minimal "breaking in" needed. They're waterproof and warm, until the soles wear thin. I do a lot of inner city walking, and I found that the soles can wear through in 6 months.
