Bass Reviews
The sole and foot bed of this sandal is narrow. My little toe hung completely off the side. Plus anyone ordering the WW width probably has a thicker ankle as well. The ankle strap is short.
I love these shoes. The width is little wider than the normal medium width, and that was perfect for me. I didn't have to stretch them at any. I also love the woven design. I ordered the brown, love them so much ordered second pair in black.
I get so many compliments on these shoes! They are cute, unique yet retro and comfortable. The first time I wore them, the sole was a little bit stiff, but not for long. I wear a 9 or 9.5; I ordered the 9.5 and they fit well with room if I choose to wear socks. Super shoes - I wish that they came in black with white polka dots, too!
I have worn these sandals for 30 years and love the comfort, coolness, and look.
I'm a narrow-heeled 8, or sometimes an 8.5; I tried the red loafer in an 8. Such a cute, quality flat, but it was too short and much too wide. Flopped off my foot like a slipper. I've been hunting for loafers for ages, and these are great, style-wise: they strike a good balance between an old-school loafer and a sleeker, updated style, while still looking totally classic. Not clunky, not too square/round/pointy a toe, not too much toe cleavage, but not too covered-up, either. Wish it came in narrow.
To me, these feel cheaply made. I am used to Frye quality and this is definitely not Frye. And something about the shape of the shoe tip makes your feet look fat. Who needs that? There is no cushioning in the foot bed but there is just a touch of arch support. The color is okay. and the heel, the rubber part, has a sloppiness to it. Seems like it was made poorly, not a clean edge. I even saw these on Anthropologie's website so I thought they might be sweet in person. But alas, I'm returning.
What can I say. Bass Weejuns are the standard that all penny loafers are measured against. I can't remember how many pairs I've owned over the years, but they are always exactly what I expect... solid, well fitting, quality shoes.
I tried them on...they fit perfectly...then, while trotting around the house to break them in a bit, the side seam blew out -- 15 minutes after putting them on! I was horrified!
These are good shoes for the price. They have a great classic look that does not go out of style. They really do fit true to size, just like my more casual shoes.
I ordered these shoes in black and they arrived today. I ordered the Wide. I couldn't even fit my feet in them! And I don't own any "wide shoes". I don't necessarily have wide feet, but I do have wide short toes, and these shoes were terrible for that. I tried to order them in the WW, but they weren't available so I ordered the similar Margie. Those arrive on Saturday, so we'll see how they fare. Don't order these if you have wide feet!
These sandals are very comfy and a lot less pricey than the usual comfort shoe. I always wore them when I was young and am just as happy with them now that I am almost 60.
I ordered the size I usually get, and it was too small and too narrow even though I ordered a wide. I was very disappointed.
I ordered this shoe in a WW and I could get my foot into it, however, the footbed is not a double wide. This resulted in my foot extending, on both sides, beyond the shoe bed :(. For those who have an medium width foot, you would probably love this shoe.
Very cute shoes and the base is comfortable, but both the wide and the regular styles had a strap positioned so that it rubbed my smallest toe. Since the toe straps aren't adjustable, I knew I wouldn't be able to wear them for any significant walking, which is what I was hunting for.
Very comfortable sandals. One did "whoosh" when I put weight on it, but that was fixed with a little dab of glue where the strap met the base. Love the adjustability of both the ankle strap and the toes--means that the regular width fit well on my often-wide toes and my skinny ankles.
I am still on the fence regarding these sandals. I ordered the regular width and wide width and they felt pretty similar and both a bit narrow for me (I usually wear regular width). I decided to give the extra wide a try and they were crazy wide. I am hoping the regular wides will stretch a bit, but I am nervous about it.
Have bought Bass for 20+ years - this Zappos product is what they advertised, although I bought the wide, it is a slightly tight fit, but I wouldn't complain and would recommend!
I really wanted to love these shoes, but I was very disappointed! If your feet are on the wider side, and I'm not even talking very wide, than those shoes arent for you. Sadly I had to return them
