Bad construction leads to blowout - Poor stitching in this shoe is a major contributing factor to failure of the shoe. The stitching is not properly terminated and can work loose with repeated wearing. Failure occurs within hours of the stitching becoming loose.

Very Comfortable Shoe!! I have worn this brand and style since the early 60's. Somewhat difficult to find the Bass brand, but no problem at Zappos. Weejuns was the loafer to wear and still is my book. I was happy to find them at Zappos, but not surprised.

Bass Larson is wonderful shoe - I ordered these shoes for my husband who has been a big fan of Bass shoes since the original Weejuns came out when he was in high school. Bass are the only shoes he will wear. If Bass decides to go out of business, I hope they will let me know first so I can stock up for the next 30 yrs. or my husband’s feet will go naked! The fit and quality of Bass is always superb and they last for many, many years. As for Zappos, you people are amazing! I just discovered you a day before I ordered these shoes and will use you always from now on. I ordered these shoes and 2 other pairs early one evening and they arrived by 2PM the next day. I was shocked! I tell everyone about you! Thanks. Your slogan is so appropriate for you (We are a service company who happens to sell things.) Great!

Brands I'd also recommend: Don't know. My husband only wears Bass except for Ariat or Georgia Boots which he wears to work on our horse farm.

Bass Larson - Although the width was perfect, the length did not feel true to size, but felt larger. Overall very nice looking shoe. In order to compensate for the sizing I inserted some insoles.

An old friend - My husband has been wearing Bass Weejuns for decades. He has finally worn out one pair and was excited to learn that they are still being produced. We couldn't find his size in the local shoe store, so I went online to Zappos. Not only was the size and color in stock, but I ordered the shoe on a Saturday evening and received it on Monday. Easy, easy and great service!

A Long Time Favorite - These shoes are very comfortable and do not require a break in period. They are appropriate for a wide range of occasions because they are so traditional in appearance. I've had several pair over the years and size and the product has been consistent. The price is very appealing. A slightly less glossy finish would be my only recommendation for improvement.

Great shoe! This shoe was comfortable right from the start - no break-in time needed. I ordered a 10D, my regular size and it fit perfectly. It's a classy looking shoe in addition to being comfortable. And Zappos service was incredible - the shoes were on my doorstep in 22 hours!!! WOW - that's the best delivery time, ever. Over the years I've had many of the Dansko Professional clogs, and they've always been comfortable and well-made. Their platform is a little high (for some of my slacks) and their look is very traditional. Because of that platform, the professionals are not good in uneven terrain. I was in search of an outdoor shoe with very little heel, like Merrel or Keen, but could not find anything in black leather. I ordered these despite the fairly high price. When they came, I was VERY pleased with the look, fit and comfort. Size-wise, they are EXACTLY like my Dansko Professionals. They are an athletic looking shoe without being too casual--they just look sharp. And I wore them walking for hours right out of the box. They are keepers; I love them.

Bass Larson - Looks great and has a leather sole, I usually wear a 10.5 3EEE but had to reorder 10 3EEE, shoe was a little long. Of course NO problems with shipping and reorder.

This is a quality shoe. It is well made. It feels and looks like "quality." I had not purchased a loafer shoe in years so I am having to get accustomed to a "looser" fitting shoe (now that it has become broken in) than the oxfords type shoes I have been wearing. In the future I might be tempted to purchase a size smaller to compensate for the "broken-in, looser fit" I am presently experiencing though I'm confident the shoe will form better to my feet once they become fully broken-in. The shoe does feel a size larger since being broken-in.

Great service - I've always found it difficult to find this shoe in my size (very wide) when trying to buy from shoe stores. The Zappos' process was simple, quick, and very friendly. Kept me updated through the entire process. I'll definitely be buying my shoes from Zappos from now on.

Bass "Larson" Weejun - Growing up I had many a pair of Bass Weejuns, and I always was satisfied with them, either as a casual or a dress shoe. Apparently nothing has changed.
