This is an oddly proportioned shoe. It pinched at the toe (even though I ordered a D width), it gapped around the middle of my foot, and slipped at the heel. It is still and doesn't conform to the foot at all.

Whoever reviewed this shoe and gave it 2 stars could not be more wrong! I love this shoe! I got the normal width and it doesn't pinch anywhere. It fits true to size and looks very vintage - like a men's shoe from the 1940's. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. I got my normal size and can wear with thin socks or with nothing just fine. The soles are comfortable. Trust me, they are not tight in width at all, in fact as I walk mine gape a little, but not so much that it's annoying or noticeable.

These look and feel wider than expected. The bubble out over the top of my foot; I may return for a narrow size. There is some nice cushioning inside, though. The soles feel slick, though; not enough traction!

Very fashionable, very reasonably priced. I am fussy about comfort. This is surprisingly comfortable for the style. Yes, it has a rather thin sole. It is as cushioned as possible. No break-in time. Definitely the shoe of the summer.

Absolutely love these shoes! I was searching for an alternative to ballet slippers and saw these. I was a little worried that the cloth/leather combo would look weird but it looks really good in person. I have received compliments each time I have worn them. Better still, they are durable (I am hard on my shoes as I walk everywhere) but still are cute- even on my size 11 feet they manage to look graceful and polished. Great to wear with skirts, shorts, capris, etc...

Today was so unusually hot that I was finally able to break out my new Bass Jolene's. I wore them with a linen skirt and I got compliments all day long. The best part is that they were comfortable right out of the box. I wore them with an invisible ped. I'm thinking now that I'll order them in another color.

I bought this in 8 and 8.5 Narrow as my size depends on the shoe. Disappointed that neither one fit as I really want this style of shoe. Size 8 was too tight in the toe, and a bit loose in the heel. Size 8 was too wide and too long. Also, the insole had leather stitched to the fabric, so would not be comfortable without socks.

I bought these shoes about three weeks ago, and I've been wearing them constantly. My job involves lots of walking, and these were comfortable from the get-go, with no break-in period. I've gotten several compliments, too! They are true to size, maybe just a tiny bit on the wide side, so keep that in mind if you have super narrow feet. Great shoe!
