I like these very much. They are fantastically comfortable, and have the riding boots styling I was looking for. They are a bit snug around the calf at first, but stretch quickly to fit well. I chose the cognac leather, which is a warm reddish brown. Excellent value for the price!

These boots do NOT fit 16.5" calves as described. My calves are 16.5" and I could not get these zipped within 5" of the top (and I tried because I really want these boots! I have looked everywhere for some that will fit my calves). I measured again after trying on and discovered that the zipper stopped at the 16" point on my leg -- so really they fit only up to 15.5" calves. These boots were also way too bulgy at the ankle. I also bought the The Born Valentina which was slim and pretty at the ankle and had a nice toe shape (those were described as fitting 17" calves but also couldn't get zipped past the 16" mark on mine). The foot part of this boot fit my small 7.5 -- wideish -- feet just fine. They didn't have as comfortable padding on the bottom as the Borns.

Liked these and would have kept them but needed a smaller size and not available. Also I need more padding on the balls of my feet.

Despite being petite, I have wider calves. It's difficult to find boots that fit. Apparently, if you don't have stick-thin legs, you have trouble. These boots were perfect. I'll admit, they were a bit tight at first, but after wearing them around my house for a bit, they stretched out enough to fit over skinny jeans. The cognac color is beautiful and I've received many compliments on them. The only downside is that the ankles bunch up, but not enough to deter me from wearing them.

I measured my calf and foot prior to buying these shoes so I can attest that it was a perfect fit and the size is exactly what the entry specifies. So far, these boots have made it 50% of the way through a mild midwestern winter including salted side walks and I think they'll last at least another winter if not 3 total. (I also take care to wipe the salt off after slushy days.) I love them, they're cute yet sensible and I can walk miles in them (and I have).

Nice boots and the color is beautiful! I need wide leg boots and these are not very wide on the calf. My calves are 15 1/2 and with my jeans tucked in they are snug. So FYI in case your calves are larger.
I'd also recommend: Nine West Shizaw

I loved the look and feel of these boots but the calf is not as big as stated in the description, unfortunately I am sending these boots back and no other boots in my size are in stock. Next year I must shop earlier.
