When polar explorers trek to the North or the South Pole they subject their footwear to the most demanding conditions imaginable. Day after day they exert themselves to the point of exhaustion, pulling their equipment over the rough and unrelenting terrain. They lose as much as one pound of body weight each day in perspiration and burned calories. At night they sleep in small tents where the temperature can drop as low as -60°C (-76°F), freezing their boots. Cold feet and blisters, that might not be given a second thought in other situations, can be fatal in this environment.
While traditional molded boots are suitable for some conditions, they are not ideal for cold temperatures. In the early 90s Baffin realized that if they combined their leading molding technology with a foam-based inner boot system, they could create a new hybrid style of high performance footwear. Since then Baffin has developed new materials and combined them in new, innovative combinations. A good example is the unrivaled 8-layer combination of materials that are used in the boots that are rated for -100ºC (-148ºF).
Over the years, Baffin has created a line of industry-leading footwear that performs in extreme conditions for an ever-growing list of loyal users and activities, including snowmobiling, ice-fishing, hunting, mushing and working in industries like construction, oil, mining, forestry, and outdoor winter recreation. Because of this, Baffin has become the leader in footwear for all your cold weather needs.

Excellent product, very warm and great traction. Note: Recommend ordering one size larger due to padding.

These boots are outstanding. Super comfortable, really warm, and look great (I bought the "Warm Brown" style). A couple things you should know: A) They run small so order up a size or half-size, B) They are a big boot, but relatively light. If you're looking for a great comfortable cold-weather boot, buy these.

These are amazing boots, they feel just like walking in the clouds the way they wrap your feet in what feels like memory foam, giving you a very snug fit. They do run small, I wear a 13W and ordered a 15. I have had this problem in the past and after reading all reviews the 15 was the perfect fit. They have a very large gaiter built into the top of the boot so if you are like me and have a very large calf these are just what the doctor ordered no problem getting in or out of these boots looks great I have the worn brown and love comfort right out of the box. They are large boots maybe even a little clunky but man are they warm shipping was the fastest I have ever seen in my life I ordered these at midnight and received them at noon the next day with the standard shipping. I am glad that I did not order express shipping as that would have wasted the money. These were less than half the cost at Zappos compared to other sites. We put them right to the test the same day and went to spend the day with a buddy who works in the blast freezer in a fish packing house. We spent over four hours keeping him company with toasty warm toes wearing only one pair of SmartWool socks with the baffin shackletons I will not be worrying about cold feet on the four wheeler this winter so for me all in all this boot impressed the hell out of me right out of the starting gate now all I have to do is figure out who to give all my other pac boots to!
I'd also recommend: snee boots. lacross iceman boots .kentrek boots
