These are warm and comfortable! I love these boots. I got them the day after a snowstorm, and then it rained and all the snow disappeared. Now, 1½ months later, we finally got some cold weather and snow to wear them in. My feet are usually the first to freeze. I only wore a single crew sock, and my feet did not even feel a little cool in these boots on a 19° day. They are so warm. They were pretty comfortable to walk in. I wear a size 8 shoe, and bought the size 9 boot, so order a size larger. The heighth of these boots comes up just above my calf. My calf is 16½" around, and they fit perfectly. I usually have a hard time finding boots to fit my calves. I had never heard of Baffin boots until I read reviews from Sorel customers. So I took some advice and researched the product. I would definitely recommend Baffin boots! They are quality made, look great, and feel good on. The money is definitely worth it. I know they will last forever. Thanks!

These boots are great! Have only had them since December '10, but worn them snowmobiling, walking in snow at -11F to 20F -- they are comfortable and warm. They fit differently than other pack boots -- very form fitting and your foot doesn't slop around. Seems to take a few tries on for the boots to fit just right (or me to get used to the different fit?). They start out feeling like ski boots, but with a few wears feel like pack boots. The gaiter top that can be extended to keep snow out of boots is a wonderful and useful touch. Feet generally stay cozy warm & comfortable -- only got slightly cool when I rode as a passenger on a snowmobile for an hour. I laugh when they ask for a "style" rating...for pack boots these are stylish.

I have been using these boots for a couple of weeks. I absolutely love them. I bought them for Minnesota. I have several layers of clothes and a huge winter coat, but still my feet are the only things that always stay warm while before they were the only things I could never keep warm enough. They are very soft and comfortable, although I did have to get used to the weight. People who try them on all cannot believe how soft and comfortable they are inside. I have worn them all day long for many days and do not get sore feet. I am very tall and lean (5'11" and 135 lbs), so the calves are a bit large. I can tighten the bottom strap as much as I want, but the top strap does not tighten quite as much as I initially wanted. After wearing them though, I don't think it matters. I highly recommend these boots. They are much bigger than they looked like in the picture, but that is great because they keep my feet so warm (I have used it so far up to -10 F and am fine).

The Most Comfortable Winter Boot I've Ever Tried On!! When I fiurst took them out of the box, I wasn't too sure about them...until I put them on. They are, without a doubt, THE most comfortable boot I've ever put on my feet. I usually use a thick shearling insole in my boots, but these have such a comfortable insople already that I don't need anythingt but a sock! I haven't tried them in really cold New England weather or snow, but based upon what I've seen, read and felt so far, I have no doubt that these boots will be war, waterproof, high enough and made to be able to keep the snow out, and just plain old comfortable on your feet!
Brands I'd also recommend: Any Baffin boot or most Canadian made boots.

About Baffin
When polar explorers trek to the North or the South Pole they subject their footwear to the most demanding conditions imaginable. Day after day they exert themselves to the point of exhaustion, pulling their equipment over the rough and unrelenting terrain. They lose as much as one pound of body weight each day in perspiration and burned calories. At night they sleep in small tents where the temperature can drop as low as -60°C (-76°F), freezing their boots. Cold feet and blisters, that might not be given a second thought in other situations, can be fatal in this environment.
While traditional molded boots are suitable for some conditions, they are not ideal for cold temperatures. In the early 90s Baffin realized that if they combined their leading molding technology with a foam-based inner boot system, they could create a new hybrid style of high performance footwear. Since then Baffin has developed new materials and combined them in new, innovative combinations. A good example is the unrivaled 8-layer combination of materials that are used in the boots that are rated for -100ºC (-148ºF).
Over the years, Baffin has created a line of industry-leading footwear that performs in extreme conditions for an ever-growing list of loyal users and activities, including snowmobiling, ice-fishing, hunting, mushing and working in industries like construction, oil, mining, forestry, and outdoor winter recreation. Because of this, Baffin has become the leader in footwear for all your cold weather needs.
