This is the best winter boot available! I have researched all the winter boots Zappos offers, but they don't even come close. Bottom line is it's warm, cushy, waterproof & easy to get on/off. What more could you ask for in a winter boot?! 1st, you can get it on/off without having to untoggle/retoggle the fasteners! It just slips right on. This is great when in a rush, which is most of the time. Also, it does have a wide calf opening, but I prefer this. This allows me to stuff my sweats, boot cut jeans, etc. inside without issue. I don't feel they look too wide, either. They're actually pretty stylish, in my humble opinion. 2nd, these keep my feet super toasty. This is the primary reason I needed new boots because my old ones (totes brand) didn't do this, even though they claimed they were lined with thinsulate. Also, I haven't had any issues with the waterproof feature. I wore these through deep snow & slush & it never penetrated. Lastly, the cushion/arch support is incredible. I returned the Sorel Joan of Arctic because it didn't have an eva midsole arch support & on top of that, my heel kept coming up & I also didn't want to have to lace it on each time! I also considered the Sorel Tivoli, but they're not temp rated & are a little shorter, so not good in deep snow & you have to lace them. They were more cushy in the foot bed, as they have an eva midsole, but I'm just crazy about this boot. This arch support is so great that I could probably go running in these! In fact, I wore them on my elliptical when I was 1st trying them in the house & there were very comfy. Baffin also has a great reputation & some of their boots are rated -140 degrees, so if anyone knows about warm boots, it's them! If anyone's curious, this model doesn't have a removable liner, which I also prefer because it seems people run into issues with these often, as it makes the boot too small/uncomfortable to get on/off. Size wise: I wear a 7M in shoes & I thought the 7M in these was too tight, even after wearing it several hours in the house to make sure it wasn't going to stretch. It's a bit narrow in the forefoot, too, so I ordered an 8M & it was perfect. A but big, but not too big. Also, it gives me the option to wear thicker socks with it. I'd rather have this option than not have this option, as would be the case if I stuck with the 7. I hope this review helps someone make their decision. The other reviews definitely helped me.

I fell in love with these boots when I first received them; they are so incredibly comfortable. I have had them for 3 weeks now and I think they are pieces of crap! Waterproof? NO WAY! My feet are soaked in them after 3 weeks of wear. I just ran to the grocery store and other errands, so it is not like I have been outside in them for long periods of time! They are not worth the money one pays for waterproof boots and I would send them back if i could and tell them to put them "where the sun doesn't shine." What false advertising! I have used waterproofing material on them twice to see if that would help, but it didn't. This is my first and last Baffin boot. Sure thought I had found my dream boots. I am so disappointed. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

I'd also recommend: I purchsed Keen boots and i am very happy with, warm, dry feet.

I was so happy that these boots arrived today as it's 16 below in Chicago. They fit perfectly and are very comfortable even with thick socks. They kept my feet toasty warm and dry. Very cute and made with quality materials. I agree that the calf is wide but the fur makes it look fine. I think one improvement the company could make is to make the width adjustable with the toggles. I can pull the toggle tighter but it doesn't stay in place. It is a great boot for the money and that the company helps the Sherpas in Nepal made me even happier with the purchase!

I'd also recommend: Ugg, Sorel

I have worn my boots for about a month and loved them until yesterday, when I noticed a rip in the suede at the instep of the right boot. The suede has pulled away from the stitching so it doesn't look like it will be easy to repair. Very disappointing; I was raving about them until I noticed the rip. I don't know whether this is typical for this brand and style, or if I just got a dud pair. (I wore them very lightly; not every day and just to run errands and things like that). Waiting to hear from Zappos whether I can get a replacement. In the meantime, I'll do more research on Baffin before I buy any more of their products.

Like butter! These boots are so comfortable right out the box. Just in time for the polar vortex. Warm, and cute. Great tread for snow/ice. No need to undo side buttons. Boot will slip off/on. I ordered up a size to accommodate winter socks, and they fit perfectly. I think they likely run a bit small/short.

I'd also recommend: I also love Bare Traps -- warm and super durable. They don't show any water markings after 3 winters of serious wear and tear, slush, etc. (I did not treat them with any waterproofing)
