When polar explorers trek to the North or the South Pole they subject their footwear to the most demanding conditions imaginable. Day after day they exert themselves to the point of exhaustion, pulling their equipment over the rough and unrelenting terrain. They lose as much as one pound of body weight each day in perspiration and burned calories. At night they sleep in small tents where the temperature can drop as low as -60°C (-76°F), freezing their boots. Cold feet and blisters, that might not be given a second thought in other situations, can be fatal in this environment.
While traditional molded boots are suitable for some conditions, they are not ideal for cold temperatures. In the early 90s Baffin realized that if they combined their leading molding technology with a foam-based inner boot system, they could create a new hybrid style of high performance footwear. Since then Baffin has developed new materials and combined them in new, innovative combinations. A good example is the unrivaled 8-layer combination of materials that are used in the boots that are rated for -100ºC (-148ºF).
Over the years, Baffin has created a line of industry-leading footwear that performs in extreme conditions for an ever-growing list of loyal users and activities, including snowmobiling, ice-fishing, hunting, mushing and working in industries like construction, oil, mining, forestry, and outdoor winter recreation. Because of this, Baffin has become the leader in footwear for all your cold weather needs.

I wear a 9½ and ordered the 10. The size & comfort is perfect! These wonderful feeling boots loose points though in functionality for me. The straps in the back are probably meant to give flexibility in shaft circumference, but in so doing they leave the back of the foot exposed. Instead of a tongue which you would find with straps or laces in front, you have a thin (probably nylon) fabric that does not go all the way up. These are worthless if walking in snow drifts of more than half a foot. It is possible to roll over the fur on top, and have a shorter boot with a fur cuff. I suppose this was what they were thinking when they designed the boot and only brought the liner up to second from the top loop in back. I will probably keep them because the comfort is so good, and I mostly need for driving back and forth to office.

Really comfortable, really warm and perfect for getting around in the cold weather (as compared to Uggs, you won't slip!) my only complaint is that the ties in the back should be tighter, they sometimes slip off sometimes.

Pros, cute boot, side zipper makes them easy to pull on. Cons, toggles don't stay closed, I'm forced to wear thick socks with these boots to keep my ankles being chafed by the zipper, not nearly as warm as my Sorel boots (style out of production so I'm looking for replacements).

I wear these to walk the dog and they are great. Very warm and my feet stay dry. I usually wear 9 1/2's and I bought a size 10. They do look huge but they are very light.

The back of the boot is open with toggle closure only. The toggles on the bottom are too big to fit securely. Bad design!
