It’s Worth the Money - DURABLE -
To start out this is a Solid bag. Eco-treated material is a plus too. Bag has place for everything you need and then some. One draw back is that there is no wetsuit bag included. Padding for your back is thick, not too spongy. Daypack is easy to remove as well as the flap to hide the main packs shoulder straps. Material seems like it could hold up if you had to check bag in. I think you could still sneak it on as a carry-on. Just remove the daypack if you tend to over pack. Overall I give it a 4.5.

I got it this morning and am returning it because I thought it was pink, but instead it was grayish purple. I need a bigger backpack to stuff more than one book for all day's classes at college, so it's definitely not my choice of backpack. I found a nicer & roomy pink Swiss army backpack and I’d really rather use it than this one. Also the chest strap padding is thin and exterior doesn't seem to be so durable and might not withhold abuses well for my laptop. (No strap to keep it in place and no pouches to hold its accessories) But I liked the ideas of cooler and fuzzy sunglasses pouch!

Interesting. I do like the non-traditional design, but this is kind of a strange bag. I have a couple of smaller Timbuk2 messenger bags, and like them a lot. As for this bag, the previous review was pretty much on the mark. I like the water bottle pocket, although to compensate for an exterior bulge, it creates an interior bulge. Pros: A good size, can accommodate a lot of stuff. Corduroy-lined laptop section is separately accessible, and because of the design, it doesn't add a lot of bulk to the bag. Cons: Only two interior pockets – one for an iPod, the other where the removable cable pouch can go. Rubberized bottom does not completely cover the bottom.

A great daypack -
I originally purchased the Patagonia Pocketwire from Zappos, but three days later I happened to be in a travel store and spotted the Pacsafe backpack. The Patagonia bag was returned and now the Pacsafe is in my possession. Having endured too many "my shoulders are so sore!" from carrying a large tote on my day trips, I finally decided to buy a backpack instead. Backpacks always remind me of my school years, but the Pacsafe doesn't look like a normal book bag (and thus it doesn't scream "tourist" or "hiker" like other packs do.) The material is great - smooth and like a thick silk - lots of compartments and I like the side vent pockets, which are great for a water bottle and umbrella. Although I loved the light tan and sage color I saw in the store, I opted for the black because I use it for both winter and summer trips. The Pacsafe, however, lacks two items the Patagonia bag had: 1) there is no mesh, so your back does get sweatier and 2) the straps aren't as comfortable. But, overall, there will be many happy future travels with this pack.

Great commuter bag!
I LOVE this bag! I never thought I would leave my beloved - but way too heavy - leather bag for anything, but this made me do it. I love all the pockets, so that I can at least feel like I am organizing all my stuff. The logo print is a nice change from the plain colors I usually purchase. No complaints whatsoever.

Perfect beach bag -
The Dakine Interval has plenty of room for all of my gear. The wet/dry bag is perfect for wet rashguard/boardshorts. The wax pocket and sunglass pocket are nice touches and the shoulder straps are very comfortable. The description stated that there was a cord port but I couldn't find it. I just pull my headphone cord through the little opening between the front pocket zippers. Overall, sweet backpack.

This has got to be the best backpack I have ever purchased! Not only does it look good, it also has all the pockets you could possibly want. Also straps that make sure everything stays put, so the pocket for your laptop is secure, so no worries! Definitely a good buy!

I LOVE seatbelt bags so it is no wonder that I really like this bag. It is a perfect casual tote and much more light weight than the classic seatbelt tote. The only reason I gave the comfort 4 stars is because I wish the handles were as substantial as the classic seatbelt bags. This medium tote is extremely roomy as well.

The everything bag...
I picked up this bag to use on the days that I bike to work and need to carry everything with me...gym clothes and shoes, Macbook and power supply, sketchbook, palm pilot, iPod, cell phone, etc. Very well designed...there's a place for everything. Heavy duty fabric, padded laptop case, cushy straps with a strap that can be moved for your chest or for your waist, cell phone pocket, sunglasses loop, and of course the cool (although not very useful) aluminum carabineer hook. I've been a shoulder/messenger bag devotee for a long time now (my other bag is a Brenthaven laptop bag) but found it too off balance when loaded down and on the bike. The Flak Pack has been the perfect solution. The only potential drawback is that you can fit TOO much stuff in it, making it a bit heavy and making you a bit turtle like...lol!!!

Great Organizer -
An organized student is a successful student. The North Face Recon does a great job of organizing all your various papers, pens, etc. for a student either in high school or college. With the many pockets and zippers, keeping everything in its own place is a breeze. The built-in organizer in the smaller pocket in the front made life so much better. Not only is the bag designed well, I've have this backpack for over three years!!! Quite an accomplishment for an active student. I give this backpack two thumbs up.

Best backpack ever made! This bag is amazing. I bought 4 backpacks from Zappos in search of the perfect one and this is it. It has excellent storage, very well thought out design, great padding for laptop, and unsurpassed comfort. Even fully loaded, this bag is very comfortable to wear. The straps hit just the right place on your shoulder and there is lots of padding on the back. This bag is perfect for school/office everyday use. If you are looking for a travel bag with even more space, definitely check out the Hurley Frequent Flyer. I have it as well and use it for extended trips/vacations. It’s massive.

Great technology back pack -
This is a great back pack for all your gadgets.
Pros - lost of space and compartments for cables, cords and accessories.
Cons - Cell phone pocket on front strap is too small for iPhone/blackberry -would have liked a mesh pocket on front to carry water etc...
Great for school or work a little small if you want to carry your computer along with workout gear.

I love this backpack!
I've had this backpack for about a month now and very much enjoying it. The streamline look and color drew me into it. Looks better when you actually get it. The comfort padding is very comfortable as I am a student and carry my laptop and books. It has cool compartments to where you can store your personal items. It even comes with a matching iPod case. Very cool. I definitely recommend purchasing this pack. It is well worth it.

Be careful about the color -
I bought this in Dune Beige and I think the grayish color in the photo is a little deceiving. It's actually more of a tan color… though I don't really mind at all, it’s just a heads up to those who are thinking of getting one in this color.

Thinking of spending the $ on this bag, but not sure if it is worth it? Here are some things to know.
1) Yes, it probably is a little overpriced. As with most Oakley products, you are spending a little more to get the "O" emblem. On the other hand, they make quality products, so at least you know you are getting something that will last. This bag is no exception.
2) It is better looking than in the picture. I think the amount of metal hooks, clips, etc.... is a little overkill, and probably contributes to the higher cost. But obviously most other reviewers seem to think these make it more attractive.
3) It is HUGE. If you are a small person, this will be too big for you. This may be a plus for you, but you should be aware that it is really big.
Overall, I would recommend it. I've used it as a sports bag, and it works great to carry cleats, gloves, water bottles, etc... in it.

My lifelong search has ended.
I have been looking for the perfect multifunctional bag for a long time indeed. I thought this bag was sweet when I first saw it, but the pictures and description couldn't give it due justice. My computer fits in it with plenty of room for everything else and all the hands free controls have made this bag an extension of myself! The bladder it comes with is not good but I assumed that would be the case and got one from Camelbak. People comment on it constantly and I don't think there is a bag out there that can top this.

I've had this bag for a couple weeks now. I find it to be very well made and a joy to use. I have used it in both configurations as a shoulder bag and backpack. It works well in both modes, though I prefer to use it as a backpack. It seems to hold quite a bit of stuff. The area for the laptop is safe, well-padded, and the corduroy lining protects the gear from scuffs and scratches. Changing the bag from a backpack to shoulder bag is easy and quick; it only takes a few minutes. The backpack straps stow away easily and the shoulder strap can be put inside the same place that the pack straps hide in. It has three different areas for putting your stuff. I use it for work and can carry manilla folders inside it along with pens, keys, etc. It also has a small pocket on the side for a can of soda or other small water bottle of similar size. The construction appears to be solid and thorough. It's one of those bags that seems like they designed it while using it. Sometimes you buy bags and it's as if no one tried it out before they finalized the design. But, this one seems well thought-out. I'm very happy with the purchase. It probably doesn't carry as much stuff as one of the messenger bags, but if you want a bag that can switch off and look professional in shoulder bag mode but can also be used as a backpack to carry for longer periods of time, then this is it. I think you'll enjoy this bag. It might be expensive, but I think it's worth it.

Probably great for junior high school -
I'm not sure who this bag was made for. On one hand, the classy look of the bag and fact that it has a laptop pocket makes me think it would be good for university students and working adults, but the "no boys allowed" pockets is totally a strange addition (and in case you're not sure which pocket that is, it's conveniently labeled inside the bag. Along with the lipstick pocket, etc.). If this were the only problem with the bag, I might have kept it, but it's also made from some particularly flimsy material. The bag feels like it might break after a short period of use. I recommend the Dakine Prom backpack instead of this one for people looking for a cute laptop backpack with lots of functionality. That one is more tasteful and it has water bottle, cooler, laptop, and other pockets.

I thought this backpack might be too small but when I took it out of the box it was perfect. It’s like in the middle of being too big and too small. Very comfortable and convenient. Big enough to fit all of my crap. I have the darker green/khaki one but would recommend any color to anyone.
