Fitness magazine rated Avia A1433 as the #1 cross trainer for 2011. Unfortunately it has been discontinued. I called Avia and they said the comparable is this shoe. It is very light, has excellent stability for jump training and plyometrics. Very comfortable shoe for the price. Zappos did send me a shoe that someone had returned. Not completely worn in but the top showed someone else had walked in them already. Not a huge problem but I would have Liked an unworn pair.

I bought these shoes for a good cross trainer doing a high intense cardio/plyometric workout. I am very pleased with the comfort and durability of these shoes. I recommend them for cross training.

I bought a pair of Avia's at Costco a couple of years ago and really liked them. When they wore out I bought another brand but they just didn't measure up. I couldn't find a pair I really liked. I thought I'd check Zappos selection of Avias and see if they had any thing that looked similar to my original pair. I saw these, and since Zappos pays for returns I thought it was worth a try to order these. Glad I did! They are just as comfortable and well-fitting as my original pair of Avias. So glad I bought them!

Lightweight, good lateral movement, cushy with room for my orthotics but the upper shoe materials were a bit stiff and overly warm. Too bad because the fit was good. Have ordered the mesh version which true to Zappos wonderful service, is due tomorrow!
Brands I'd also recommend: Clars Artisan, Wave, and Un-lines, Born (if you don't need orthotics), Brooks, Merrell (also if you don't need orthotics), some Ecco styles

I tried on the "leather" version of this and ordered this one because I thought the mesh would conform better to my foot. Unfortunately, it magnifies the issue of huge volume across the widest part of the top of my foot, like there is too much fabric and it wrinkles! Too bad. Nice lightweight shoe with good lateral movement.

Love these shoes! They have a great sole and provide good cushioning and overall support. I have worn Avia shoes for a long time and these are the reason any.

These are the cheapest shoes I have ever ordered from this site! The tops started splitting after 3 months but I kept wearing them until they split where I could not wear them to work. I will never buy Avia's again

Was looking for a shoe that I could wear for workouts that include a lot of lateral movement and jumping (Turbo Fire), so needed something with good support and cushion under the ball of the foot. Tried these as well as the Avia A1371W. They did not fit the same at all! This shoe felt narrow and stiff, yet with less support than the A1371W. I returned these and went with the others, which have become my favorite aerobics shoe.
