I like Aster and to date bought only patent ones. This time I bougth the red leather and in the first wear as my daughter sits down most times at school, the front of the shoe started to loose color. It started to look like a really old shoe with one wear. I didn't have that experience in patent ones. So I really want my money back. This shoe is not a low price brand.

Not a fan. I bought these in red because my daughters have had these for years, but the quality of Aster has really gone down. I don't think they are made in France anymore and really, the quality is not much better than something you'd buy at a big-box discount store. I didn't like the red color, or the new buckle style. I've moved to Footmates, which I like a bit better and are a little less expensive. Also, the Elephantito brand is very nice.

Brands I'd also recommend: Sonnet, Elephantito, Naturino, Footmates, Sun San Sandals, Frye, Tretorn

I bought these for my 5 year old daughter who absolutely hates velcro. She loves them (and she better, as she has to wear them to school every day). No complaining about having to break them in, they were perfect right out of the box! And they're so cute, too!
