Never have I purchased a pair of hiking boots that actually became less comfortable as I broke them in. I understand that they are meant to be light weight, but the manufacturers sacrificed too much cushioning to make a lighter boot. I began to feel every seam within the toebox and these points continuously wore my foot. It was not a matter of the boots being too narrow. They felt true to size in all respects, and fit very well. They just did not provide the comfort I was hoping for in a day-hiking boot.

Love this shoe! I bought these for backpacking and general ascent and intro to mountaineering. So far I want to wear them every day! Good arch support (even without the superfeet insert/insoles); nice heel hug (I have narrow heels) and just a great nice all around fit. I normally wear a 9, and surprisingly I'm perfect in an 8.5 with smartwools thick socks! I work at an outdoor recreational store; we don't have this style and since I love Zappos, I scored them on here. In fact, I'm buying a second pair just to have them for future.

Excellent shoes, and great shopping experience. The sole is a bit harder than I was expecting, and it doesn\'t flex much. The shoes are more suitable for a hike than for city walking, but all in all they are great.

After wearing these boots for a couple of days, I have to say that I have not had a more comfortable boot from the get go. I have had very little soreness in the foot and they provide a very stable base to walk from. I have a semi-low arch and narrower than normal foot. The boots fit tightly around the ankle and lower leg and they leave ample room for the toes. So far I am extremely happy with the purchase!

Almost high enough to be a boot. Nifty looking shoes, edgy without screaming. (I got the black and light green.) They fit comfortably, but the sides and back come up much higher than I am used to, and I'm afraid that this will start to bother me when I wear them out for hiking or shopping. If you've got an orthotic or need a heel pad, this is a great shoe for you. There's room inside and vertically.

These boots have been very durable. They are very well made and comfortable. My feet definitely stay warm and dry. The only problem I had was the first time I wore them my feet got very sore. The next few times I wore them I loosened the laces just a little bit. It seemed to do the trick and I've never had a problem since.

Overall, one of the very best designed and constructed boots I have seen. Attention to detail second to none. I really wanted to keep these boots. I wear a 13D for length and forefoot width, but have a narrow heel. The Asolo Power Matic line fit my heel perfectly, but are slightly too narrow. Within an hour they start to pinch around the ball of my foot. Since they are leather, they may have been able to be (professionally) stretched, but I worried about the effect that would have on the Gore-Tex liner. All said and done I had to return, but did so reluctantly. If you have a slightly narrow forefoot, you should try these out. The two boots that fit me best are the Kayland Contact (wish I could find someone who carries size 13) and the Montrail Helium GTX. Zappos service is awesome and I recommend buying from them.

As always, Asolo continues to exceed my expectations. With bone fragments in both ankles, break-in is quite a chore. These Asolo shoes were more comfortable in about half the time of my Columbias. Support is great, but without sacrificing the "feel" needed when trying to move quietly over sticks, rocks and such. I will buy them again.

I bought my boots in July and after several days of local walking I did 20 days of trekking in October in the Himalayas (primarily the Everest Circuit). I could not be more pleased with the results: my feet stayed warm and dry, but never hot; I walked on wet steps and wet rocks and rarely slipped, never falling; no blisters or discomfort of any kind. I did buy and wear a boot a half size larger than I normally wear, and it was perfect. I also have a very narrow foot, but could lace the boot snugly. I did add a good quality insert with a special arch pad. Now I am back home and I wear them every day. My wife even says they look nice.

I wore the Asolo Revenge GTX for a 6 day hike in Patagonia and they absolutely great hiking boots. My friend who goes on expeditions to Alaska recommended Asolo, and with good reason. The toe protection and Gore-Tex are a must. These boots are tough, but also light. They also look great. I didn't need to break them in much, and with the right socks on, I never got any blisters. They were OK on my wide feet. They fit a little snug but are OK. I definitely recommend these boots.

Wonderful hiking boot. No break in time. When you walk you feel the three points of support that feel like springs. I have feet problems with my heels hurting. When I first slipped these boots on. I felt no more pain in my heels. There is plenty of room for inserts placed on top of the three layers made by Asolo. Do your feet a favor and buy Asolo TPS 535V. Great arch support holding your heels in place. There is a newer generation of this high tech hiking boots. It is made with the same craft making.

I've now worn these shoes for several hikes and can honestly state that they are great! I have a hard time finding shoes that accommodate my left foot - which I broke over 20 years ago. They'll feel fine in the store and fine for the first couple of miles and then my foot starts hurting. These shoes go the distance. And they are cute!

This boot fits true to size, 100% waterproof, good for summer and limited winter outings. Only real drawback is the durability of the sole. Sole wears very fast; for the price it should have a Vibram sole!

While I have only used them on one 3 day trip so far, I cannot say enough about these boots. Comfortable, great support, not too heavy, warm but not excessively hot, I could not find a negative functional aspect to comment on. The price is a bit steep, but you definitely get what you pay for with these boots.

My son has worn this brand for over 12 years. Price is good for the number of years the boot lasts. After 4 pairs, the quality is consistent and boot can be resoled.

After trying all different styles of Hiking Boots I have found gold in Asolo. The Shelter GTX fit my feet like a glove but with room to move my toes properly. I used to be a 2AAShoe/4AAAAHeel and I wore a size 9.5. When I was a teen I owned 1 pair of shoes and I felt awful when all my friends had more than 1 pair and they were stylish. Once my feet spread a little with age but never quite made it to a full B width these are the blessings Asolo bestowed upon my feet. These Asolo\'s have given me that freedom in the way they fit and look and I couldn\'t be happier! I just bought my second pair as they don\'t slip on my heel and no blisters or hot spots in these great boots. I will be on the bandwagon as long as they are available so please keep me posted on boots of these same type as I will for sure take a look at them. Thank you Zappos as you will always be my favorite online shoe store. Thanks for helping me with my problem with the one pair of shoes by replacing immediately at no cost to myself. You are number one in this business and I hope you stay right there on top! I will only buy from other online sites when you don\'t have what I want or need, which I might add is not often at all. Love my Zappos! Lyn P

I've been looking for a lighter pair of hiking boots for some time now, and these Asolo Fugitives have turned out to be the perfect choice. I've been wearing a pair of Lowa Alpine Guide boots that are just a tad too tight in the toe, and heavy for casual day hikes in the local forest. The boot has plenty of quality features that Asolo is known for, and the attention to detail is spot on. The outsole is quite rigid and adds a lot of stability on uneven terrain. Because the outsole is so rigid, you should take the time to break the boots in before a long hike, especially in the hills. From this point forward, Asolo is my boot of choice for the great outdoors.

Got these puppies on sale which was a treat. They felt true to size and width for the most part. I had read in a previous review that someone suggested replacing the sole insert that came with the shoe with a pair from super feet which I did and they feel great. Light weight, water proof, and beautifully styled to boot. I really like my Asolos.

I chose this boot for its reputation for effectiveness, durability, and its looks. Oh yeah, and I didn't want to pay more than $200 for a pair of boots. Unfortunately, I haven't yet had the opportunity to wear them for a hike, so I can only speak for their initial comfort and the apparent quality of construction. I've warn them around for daily tasks and they're both comfortable and supportive. They're also interesting to look at without being ridiculously flashy (dark brown style). I'm on the cusp between a US size 9.5 and 10. I went for the 10 for this shoe, and I find they're snug in both directions, while leaving me just enough room to avoid my toe touching the box when walking down slope. However, they make me wonder for the first time if I might need to be in a wide shoe rather than D-width. I'll update if I get blisters.

These boots are great. Lacing system is innovative, allowing the boot to snug up in the right spots. Tongue hook helps you strap in. The craftsmanship is exceptional, except for a toe guard. Broken these boots around the house for two weeks. Ventured outside for four days. Rubber began to separate from boot. No problem! Zappos is exchanging. Other than that, the comfort and support is great. The Power Matic system is noticeable and floats over the terrain. I had a two pair of Fugitives for 4 years, much lighter and don't appear to be as durable, benefit of leather.

They\'re a bit ugly, but they are also the best boots I\'ve ever owned. I\'ve had my current pair for 3 years and they\'re still going strong after hiking about 200 miles with them. They breathe fairly well for being waterproof, and they\'ve never failed to get a solid foothold on any terrain.

I purchased these after trying on all the brands in the comfort of my own home. These fit the best for my foot by far. The feel like sneakers. The foot is more narrow in the back that most, but not in a constricting way. More of a 'hold your foot in place'. The support is awesome; sole is solid, and well done. The pull system is the best I've seen in any boot; simple to lace up, and unlace. The Gore-Tex makes these boots a hot boot; I have to change socks out every hour in the Texas heat, though I suspect it would be great in the other 3 seasons. Best boot I've got. I just purchased a lighter non water proof Asolo for the 20 lb hikes.

A well built boot that is very sturdy. Very good ankle support. I will take two to three days of break in time. The heel is locked in place so the chance of blisters is cut down.
