While I have only used them on one 3 day trip so far, I cannot say enough about these boots. Comfortable, great support, not too heavy, warm but not excessively hot, I could not find a negative functional aspect to comment on. The price is a bit steep, but you definitely get what you pay for with these boots.

My son has worn this brand for over 12 years. Price is good for the number of years the boot lasts. After 4 pairs, the quality is consistent and boot can be resoled.

After trying all different styles of Hiking Boots I have found gold in Asolo. The Shelter GTX fit my feet like a glove but with room to move my toes properly. I used to be a 2AAShoe/4AAAAHeel and I wore a size 9.5. When I was a teen I owned 1 pair of shoes and I felt awful when all my friends had more than 1 pair and they were stylish. Once my feet spread a little with age but never quite made it to a full B width these are the blessings Asolo bestowed upon my feet. These Asolo\'s have given me that freedom in the way they fit and look and I couldn\'t be happier! I just bought my second pair as they don\'t slip on my heel and no blisters or hot spots in these great boots. I will be on the bandwagon as long as they are available so please keep me posted on boots of these same type as I will for sure take a look at them. Thank you Zappos as you will always be my favorite online shoe store. Thanks for helping me with my problem with the one pair of shoes by replacing immediately at no cost to myself. You are number one in this business and I hope you stay right there on top! I will only buy from other online sites when you don\'t have what I want or need, which I might add is not often at all. Love my Zappos! Lyn P

I've been looking for a lighter pair of hiking boots for some time now, and these Asolo Fugitives have turned out to be the perfect choice. I've been wearing a pair of Lowa Alpine Guide boots that are just a tad too tight in the toe, and heavy for casual day hikes in the local forest. The boot has plenty of quality features that Asolo is known for, and the attention to detail is spot on. The outsole is quite rigid and adds a lot of stability on uneven terrain. Because the outsole is so rigid, you should take the time to break the boots in before a long hike, especially in the hills. From this point forward, Asolo is my boot of choice for the great outdoors.

I love these hiking boots. They really hold up to whatever Alaska can throw at them! They fit true to size and are great for tackling those mountains.

Got these puppies on sale which was a treat. They felt true to size and width for the most part. I had read in a previous review that someone suggested replacing the sole insert that came with the shoe with a pair from super feet which I did and they feel great. Light weight, water proof, and beautifully styled to boot. I really like my Asolos.

I chose this boot for its reputation for effectiveness, durability, and its looks. Oh yeah, and I didn't want to pay more than $200 for a pair of boots. Unfortunately, I haven't yet had the opportunity to wear them for a hike, so I can only speak for their initial comfort and the apparent quality of construction. I've warn them around for daily tasks and they're both comfortable and supportive. They're also interesting to look at without being ridiculously flashy (dark brown style). I'm on the cusp between a US size 9.5 and 10. I went for the 10 for this shoe, and I find they're snug in both directions, while leaving me just enough room to avoid my toe touching the box when walking down slope. However, they make me wonder for the first time if I might need to be in a wide shoe rather than D-width. I'll update if I get blisters.

These boots are great. Lacing system is innovative, allowing the boot to snug up in the right spots. Tongue hook helps you strap in. The craftsmanship is exceptional, except for a toe guard. Broken these boots around the house for two weeks. Ventured outside for four days. Rubber began to separate from boot. No problem! Zappos is exchanging. Other than that, the comfort and support is great. The Power Matic system is noticeable and floats over the terrain. I had a two pair of Fugitives for 4 years, much lighter and don't appear to be as durable, benefit of leather.

They\'re a bit ugly, but they are also the best boots I\'ve ever owned. I\'ve had my current pair for 3 years and they\'re still going strong after hiking about 200 miles with them. They breathe fairly well for being waterproof, and they\'ve never failed to get a solid foothold on any terrain.

These boots are stable, comfortable and true to size. I also like the look! Need to add a little padding with socks around the ankles if you have knobby bones like me.

I purchased these after trying on all the brands in the comfort of my own home. These fit the best for my foot by far. The feel like sneakers. The foot is more narrow in the back that most, but not in a constricting way. More of a 'hold your foot in place'. The support is awesome; sole is solid, and well done. The pull system is the best I've seen in any boot; simple to lace up, and unlace. The Gore-Tex makes these boots a hot boot; I have to change socks out every hour in the Texas heat, though I suspect it would be great in the other 3 seasons. Best boot I've got. I just purchased a lighter non water proof Asolo for the 20 lb hikes.

A well built boot that is very sturdy. Very good ankle support. I will take two to three days of break in time. The heel is locked in place so the chance of blisters is cut down.

Bought these last December to break in while I trained for climbing Kilimanjaro. There was no break in needed. They felt great throughout the the training and served me well all the way to the top of Kili! I never had a blister or even a hot spot. I have not been able to hike for many years and recently had total replacements of both kness so good boots were a major concern. These were GREAT! My cousin and his son who climbed with me did not but boots until 2 weeks before the climb. I told them about the Asolos and they also got them. Neither had any problem with the boots on the climb!

This is a very stiff shoe. Not very flexible when walking. I wore them for two weeks trying to break them in. All I got was a big blister.

These are hands down the best boots I have ever owned! I just got back from a five day backpacking trip in the Adirondacks and could not be happier. My feet feel like they could do another five days no problem. The boots were new to me two weeks before the trip and I only wore them around the city for maybe five or six days and they felt broken in already. I have very sensitive feet and always get blisters when hiking running or playing sports. With these boots I have not gotten a single blister; amazing! The boots had great traction on hard pack, slick rock, and wet conditions. The waterproofing seemed to hold up fine in stream crossing and pretty heavy rain. They feel true to size with excellent support where you need it. The only negative would be the insoles which are not much more than a cardboard insert. Replace these and you are all set.

I wore these shoes to hike in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park at Alaska last week. I hiked on the glacier and walked over some waters. This pair of shoes is indeed waterproof and comfortable. However, after hiking on a 4.5-mile flat and moderate hiking trial, my feet became really tired. This should be my problem since I do not hike that often. Without the hiking socks, this shoes is a little bit bigger to me. But the fit is perfect with wool hiking socks. However, if socks are too thick, my right toes starts to feel uncomfortable. This pair of shoes can be better if it has the round toe design. If I can choose again, I will choose a half size larger.

I was thrilled to not have to pay shipping on my boots and they arrived in just a few days. I saved quite a bit buying them at Zappos rather than buying them in the store, and I even got the width I wanted! Thank you so much for the wonderful service and speedy shipment! A+ And I no longer suffer leg and foot pain after my daily hikes.

Great Shoes - These shoes felt great right out of the box. They felt true to size, low arch support but I have flat feet anyway. The look is great and everybody I know wants a pair! They go with any kind of pants/shorts and I will buy another pair soon.

These boots are great. I received them, wore them a total of about 2 hours in the house, just to make sure they felt OK, then took them to Alaska where I wore them for 10 days straight in constant rain, hiking through creeks, rocky trails, and also in town. Totally waterproof, at least up a couple of inches, light, and very good traction. I have a wide foot/high arch, so many boots do not fit (squeeze toes). These are good for me, even on downhills.

Great boots, and really quick shipping. This is my second pair of these hiking boots. The last pair lasted through five years of regular hiking. Very supportive, light, comfortable, and have really good traction compared to other hiking boots I\'ve had. One of the only hiking boots I\'ve found that come in size 14 extra wide.\r\n\r\n

I bought these to replace my worn out Vasque boots. I was blown away at how comfortable these were, like casual shoes. I bought 12 wide and they fit very good except the heel is a little loose. I'm used to needing to break boots in so I hope this isn't a problem down the road. Excellent style and look. Zappos is more expensive than every other site I went to. I was disappointed by this, but I kept the boot because I had already worn them to work in.

Large, heavy, very stiff boot. I loved the boot but it is substantial. I had to send it back because the right ankle cuff hurt my ankle badly. It\\\'s from the difference in my ankles than a defect in the boot because I tried two pair and had the same problem. I loved the style too. I wish they would make this style in a lighter model like the fugitive model. Zappos is a little pricier than every other website. That\\\'s how they make up all that \\\'free\\\' shipping. But very good service as usual. I emailed Asolo and they didn\'t even know what Zappos was.

I purchased the Asolo after trying on about 7 different brands of boot, all top quality, top brand, top of the line shoe\'s. \r\n\r\nThe Power Matic 400 GV was the only boot to fit my foot perfectly. I ordered a 1/2 size larger than my foot to ensure I had room up front. I have a normal size foot, wide front, and slightly narrow heal (all other brands caused me to slip in the back). Fits like a running shoe.\r\n\r\nThe PM400GV fit and finish is much better than that of the others. The pully lacing system is awesome! \r\n\r\nAlthough the shoe is soft, there is still some break in period. And on my first long hike, on a 90 deg day, uphill with a 50lb pack, I had to change out my socks about once an hour to stay dry. \r\n\r\nLove the boot
