While I have only used them on one 3 day trip so far, I cannot say enough about these boots. Comfortable, great support, not too heavy, warm but not excessively hot, I could not find a negative functional aspect to comment on. The price is a bit steep, but you definitely get what you pay for with these boots.

Awesome Boots - I have tried so many boots in the past and finally I have found a boot that fits me well. It is a well made boot! Quality of the leather is very good. The shoelaces could be better. The fit is comfortable with excellent support for the ankles as well. Because of its one piece construction, it is durable with good water protection. For added protection from the elements, apply Nikwax before a trip. I normally wear a size 10 1/2, but I am a size 10 with Asolo. Overall, a great boot from Asolo. I am now a new Asolo fan.

Supportive improvement over my sundowners - Great hiking boots, excellent materials, good arch support (always an issue for me). They are much sturdier than my trusty sundowners.

I will forever buy Asolo boots - These boots, after a good break-in period, stood up to 3 weeks of hiking through crazy New Zealand trails, frozen boulders and multiple stream crossings. Great traction! Great waterproofing! Gortex lining worked very well. I'm normally a 9.5 EE with high arches. So I bought the 9.5 wide. Great fit! Buy better laces. OEM laces are worthless. You'd think they'd supply better laces on a boot of this quality/price. Overall, buy these boots. You will not regret your decision.

Perfect right out of the box - A solid, sturdy, supportive boot that’s extremely comfortable...I didn't want to take them off...The 10.5 fits like an 11 which was what I had read in other reviews and it was true...I'm usually an 11 but went with the 10.5s and they are perfect. I love the look. Overall, I couldn't be happier.

Since its inception in 1975, Asolo has gained an important worldwide leadership position in producing technical mountaineering shoes. The product range covers footwear from the most technical alpine demands to the more relaxed leisure activities line, permitting Asolo to be one of the few companies in the world to completely cover the outdoor area. More importantly, their footwear has conquered the most important mountains in the world with sponsored athletes JC Lafaille and Tomaz Humar.

Asolo’s goal is to create great footwear for all of your outdoor needs, in all conditions, at all altitudes: from light walking to hiking, from backpacking to the most treacherous climbing - whether it be on ice or mixed terrain. The footwear is designed around the foot; flexible, lightweight, and at the same time, highly resistant. Fit and performance are major strengths for this design. Asolo TPS 535 V - I was impressed with the construction and fit. Very good arch support. Extremely comfortable boot. Unfortunately, a bit narrow for my foot, and wide was not available.

Excellent boot! After reading some of the reviews on the Asolo, I decided to go with the TPS 535. This is my first pair of Asolos, and I must say, I'm very pleased. They're very light, and feel a bit 'springy' when walking on them. They are quite stiff out of the box, however they're a bit taller than my previous boots, so this may be an individual issue. I wore my Danner boots for 7 years, then finally had to retire them when I got these. Hopefully these will last as long. I did need to put in an insole, to help improve the fit, but other than that, I have no complaints whatsoever. I highly recommend.

Best boots Ever- I bought these for my boyfriend because his other hiking boots gave him monster blisters. Now he won't take the Asolo's off. He wears them everyday and would probably wear them everywhere including the shower if he could. I have a pair of my own and I love them. If your boots give you blisters, you need to get these. They are awesome!

Asolo hiking boot - It is a great boot. I bought them because I have a pair of Asolo hiking boots and love them. My husband is on his feet all day on a construction site and needed something for ankle support. I chose these because they are all leather and provide lace up ankle support. He has had many different brands of boots over the years but these are the best so far.

Great boot - I wore these boots for the first time hiking up Mt. Lassen and they performed wonderfully without any breakin. They're tough enough that they won't break down like a day hiker would, yet light enough to wear on a day hike. I got mine a 1/2 size larger than I normally would and they are perfect. Outstanding stability and traction, and the uppers are very comfortable and pliable for how sturdy and protective they are. My only criticism would be that more of a toe guard would be nice since I've scraped the leather on the toes a bit on stones, etc., but this is minor and I certainly wouldn't reject them because of that. No need for Goretex, though. I just put Grangers on mine and they're fine. I'd recommend this boot without reservation, but I'm not sure they'd work for someone with a wide foot.

Asolo hiking boots - I have tried Merrill (bad heel blisters), Vasque (too tight and worried about breakin period), and finally Asolo. Asolo boots fit right out of the box and did not require a breakin. These are really comfortable hiking boots. Zappos has an excellent return policy to make sure you are satisfied and they also get a 5 star!

Stands above the rest - These boots start off stiff like hiking boots should and slowly for to your feet while breaking in. I wore mine several times a week for things such as teaching in the classroom, riding my mountain bike and just all around walking. I took these boots up Mount Fuji after one month of wear and they were superior to any boot I have hiked in. Best looking boot on the market. Great for all types of hiking. Haven't tried in cold weather yet, but for summer time, they are excellent.

Another superb Asolo product. Another home run for Asolo. For 15 years, I've been using Asolo products and have yet to be disappointed. The TPS 535 is no exception. Superb quality, light, and just the right amount of stiffness to provide excellent support for either day hikes or multi-day backpacking trips. As usual, the Cambrelle lining makes for great ventilation but the boot performs just as well in moderately cold climates. Water resistance was actually far greater than I expected. Right after purchasing them, I went on 4 day trip up around the Bishop area, slogging through some marshlands where my boots were submerged ankle deep in water and mud. Not one drop made it's way in. Pretty awesome! The sole looks far bulkier than it feels but provides superb grip on various types of terrain and when the going gets sloppy, they do a great job of shedding mud. There is a nice springy feel to it and the Aso Brake worked wonders on descents. PLEASE NOTE: Contrary to what was stated by other reviewers, break in period varies greatly according to your foot, not the boot. For me, there was no break in period. Every Asolo boot I've ever purchased was used on a hike right out of the box. Sure, quite risky but it's certainly quite a testament to the consistently high quality Asolo puts into their products. I also noticed another bit of misinformation from some of these reviews. With regards to the US size listed on the boot, as is typical with European shoes, Asolos run larger than indicated. In other words, if you wear 10.5 US-try the shoes labeled 10, NOT the other way around as previously indicated. Has been this way as long as I can remember. Bottom line, if you want a solid, relatively light boot that can handle pretty much anything you can though at it, get these boots NOW!!!

Asolo- excellent back packing and hiking boots: I have recently tried several different boots in preparation for backpacking this year. Some of the boots retailed at almost twice the cost ($285.00) vs . that of the Asolo's ($162.00). I prefer to have the boots breath well in hot sweaty weather and selected the Asolo version without the goretex liner. In my opinion, the Asolo's are not as well padded in the ankle area and may take some breaking in, but the toe box and overall comfort is excellent. My feet have protruding bunions and this boot is more comfortable than most others. The factory inserts were better than some of the more expensive boots but I replaced them with top quality, higher padded inserts that also have additional arch support. So far, hiking with the boot is highly enjoyable and more 'springy' than my prior boots which were priced a little higher. I am impressed with the design and quality. If you are hiking in colder climates, you may want to consider the gore tex version of this Asolo boot which cost about $50 more.

What a great boot. Just received them today. Instantly good fit. Just the right stiffness of sole (fairly stiff). Very sharp looking. Plenty of ankle support, in fact, I thought the boots were a little bulky with padding up on the ankles, but they snug nicely. They look smaller than my Zamberlans, but my size (9) fits perfectly. I will report again after 100 miles. PS: Zappos rocks. Extremely fast and hassle-free service! Thanks, -Adam (Cambridge, WI)

Loyal Asolo boot wearer - I've been wearing Asolo boots since 1995. I've tried Merril and Vasque but always come back to Asolo. I love my new boots and they look great too. They are very supportive and firm around the ankle. I can say that in the over 1000 miles of hiking in Asolo boots, I've never had an ankle injury. The soles are stiff which help with scrambling up steep climbs. I have to note that all the Asolo boots I've had take some time to break in and if you plan on wearing them on a long trip you will need to break them in over a few weeks prior.

Wonderful! This is the 2nd time we have ordered the same boot and saved money. My husband loves them so much we ordered 2 pair this time. You are fast, and saved us the time it would take to shop locally for the best possible price which is still more expensive then you! Thanks!

Instant comfort - I got these boots and, once I had the proper size (which ended up being 1/2 size smaller than my sneakers) they fit very well. I also couldn't believe how fast such a stiff boot could break in. I just got them and have only done one hike so I can't speak for their wear, but if they last as long as they look like they should, I'll definitely get another pair when they wear out.

Buy These Boots - The Asolo TPS 535 V is quite simply the BEST boot I have ever owned. I had been wearing Merrel boots for most of my adult life until they started manufacturing them in China. I believe most if not all of the Asolo boots are manufactured in Romania. Be prepared to get a lot of comments from people because these boots are visually STUNNING. Kudos to Zappos for free express shipping and saving me nearly $30 over REI.
